Milviz 310!

I know this planes been out for a while but wow! I just bought it today (an early bday present to myself LOL).First impressions are excellent:1) 3d analogue VC is crisp, easy to read, panel lighting is really neat.2) flight characteristics seem on, handles well, flies by the numbers per the PoH3) external model is also very crisp, good textures, sharp etc.4) I like the free radio option so I will install my GNS430W. But for now I'm filing /A (because I really dislike the default GPS).Sounds are decent, there's a bit of an overkill wind sound when in flight. I'll try to dig for that file and temporarily rename it :)Not the fastest twin out there but good for on the numbers practice. I'm doing about 190 tas @ 090. It will be my lower altitude twin. Turbine Duke is higher altitude twin (also highly recommended)Overall for $30 it's a real steal!http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=c310r

Agree! The best GA twin for FS in my opinion.I like RealAir stuff too, but this C310 have some character.

Not really. With most add-ons the wind sound is way too low. Ken Stalling, the owner of a 310 made actual sound recordings with his 310 and it turned out that the 310 (and most other real planes) are that noisy. When we had the 'old' wipers on the CRJ it was almost impossible to have a normal conversation at 250kts and at 300 you couldn't hear the TCAS anymore! The 'new' wipers lowered the sound level by approx 50kts and that's with a much better noise insulation than a GA plane.Watch out when flying on one engine as this is the first GA twin for FSX which actually handles and performs like its RW counterpart, even during single engine ops BTW, she stalls and spins as well, (flat below Vmca and max power on one engine) ;)

Agreed! She is a beauty. It's been years since I flew one IRL but they have done an excellent job. My favorite light twin.Vic

That's fair. Though if using ANR headset I think I'd want a new plane if that's how loud it is... The cherokee I flew wasn't anything like that. Anyway, do you happen to know the file that controls that sound? It's still far too loud for me on vatsim. I thought it was TSS-wind.wav - but renaming that didn't get rid of it.

I think your assumption is correct, Ryan. That sound.cfg defines[WIND_SOUND]filename=TSS-Windflags=0viewpoint=1minimum_speed=30.00 maximum_speed=220.00 minimum_volume=200 maximum_volume=12000 minimum_rate=0.90maximum_rate=0.90so maybe you can just alter the max volume there, to have a solution between on and off available.

It's working now... I forgot to recycle planes, renaming that file worked fine.

IMO, (for what it's worth!) this aeroplane is the best civilian light twin that has been produced thus far. It's flight dynamics and attention to the small details that individualize an aircraft are all superbly re-created. Next down the line is the BN-2 Islander from Flight1 - and if you like old military twins - MAAM-Sim has just released version 7 of "Briefing Time" for FSX - still a port, but now fully flyable from the vc. These three are the honeys of my hangar! :(

Islander is too slow for me haha!I basically use the Turbine Duke, Orbx Lancair, Flight1 Mustang or C182, and now this plane. I also use the Citation X and Lotus L39 to go fast :)Oh, here's a "glamour" shot I took... so... if you don't have this, buy it now!c310glamor.jpg

We all worked very hard to make this THE definitive light twin for FSX. I think we did it quite nicely. Thanks go to Ken, Bernt and Bill for their work on this project. Not only is it a really great product but we had fun making it too...And, if I may, we are VERY close to releasing the T-38A Talon Jet trainer. It's made using pretty much the same team with the added bonus of a couple of RW T-38 pilots. This is also at the same level (and surpasses) the C310R in terms of realism... (you can check it out on our website...)Thanks for the compliments.

Cool! I'll probably pass on the T38 - I'm more into GA and the Lotus L39 is like my "T38" hehe. But I wish you well on the T38A - I've seen the previews, it looks amazing!

Oh oh. I love the T-38. I didn't know it was coming. May have to dust off my trusty FlightStick...

I think the gauge styles are similar to the CS B-52 when looking at some spots, knobs and switches (not all of course). The BUFF is also listed in the portfolio of Milviz.I didn't know about that cooperation there, there was just a small note in the CS forums some time ago. Small flight sim world, huh?The T-38 looks like another great thing to come.

We did not only all of the VC paint job and most of the modeling (not the hull, that was theirs), we also did a large chunk of the code. CS basically dissed us totally in saying that we did about 5% or something silly like that... It was more like 80% or more... ANYWAY... suffice to say that the T-38A will be a nice addition for anyone with a hankering for learning how to fly jets... (in a more american way!!!)
