July 6, 201114 yr Ryan, I had an idea that may help all of us waiting for the final product. Instead of the constant begging here, you could soothe things out by releasing the user manual on a chapter by chapter basis. Think of it, instead of hearing folks whine about "another delay", you release a chapter or a topic of the user manual for download. Then, you could do another chapter several days later, etc.. until the product is released. It's like throwing a dog a bone. Folks will start asking for the next chapter, and not the plane, see? :( Curt Branch
July 6, 201114 yr So instead of people crying and moaning about screenshots, videos, the wide beta, now they'd get to complain about screenshots, videos, the wide beta, and manual chapters? Sounds like it would make this whole waiting process even more agonizing and irritating. The only decent suggestion PMDG should heed to is to stop making untenable release guestimations
July 6, 201114 yr Commercial Member We can't release the Boeing-written parts of the manuals for free, only the PMDG ones, and those won't be finished until the plane is at release candidate status most likely. All the screenshots etc need to reflect as close to the final code as they can. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 7, 201114 yr Hi Ryan.Sorry please can you clear this up for me.:( Are the Manuals that we can buy from your website ie "Chief Pilots Set" going to be included in the product as a pdf, or will it only be PMDG's manuals that will be made available with the product? July 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member Here is what's coming with the product as PDFs:PMDG written:-Introduction (over 100 pages with an overview of the aircraft, explanations of the options and use of our custom fuel and payload UIs, the livery manager etc)-The tutorial flights - there are two coming with the airplane, a basic introductory flight and a more advanced flight. I intend to make this an ongoing thing, more will be written post-release focusing on specific advanced things - for the first time ever we have the ability to embed armed failures into the saved flights, so this will make for some neat tutorials that involve dealing with them without knowing what's coming at you.Boeing written:-Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM) Volumes 1 & 2-Flight Crew Training Manual (FTCM)-Quick Reference Handbook (QRH)These 4 items are over 3000 pages in length. July 7, 201114 yr Commercial Member Yep - we'll do it like:Scenario 1.fltScenario 2.fltScenario 3.fltetcSo you won't know what's in each one - might be a V1 cut in one flight, an explosive decompression in another etc and you'll have to use the QRH to diagnose and deal with whatever happens. July 7, 201114 yr Hello Ryan, just a quick question between (as you mentioned the saved flights); hope it wasn't answered somewhere before:Has the NGX the ability to get loaded cold and dark?Or do we have load the plane (running - like MD11) and then set it into cold and dark (via the FMC or however this will work in the NGX)?thanks for answering!Günter Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm gonna be strong and not check this forum any more (constant negativity anyway) - gotta fight the urge to chime in and add to all the crud being written.Looking forward to the greatest flight sim add on thus far.Good luck Ryan, Robert, Vin & co.Steve McLaren

July 7, 201114 yr I must admit, this saved armed failure mode idea sounds pretty neat. So, presumably, users could create scenarios like horrible whether and an autoland failure near the FAF, or something like that. Could make for some neat saved flight scenarios, etc. Someone who is enterprising could maybe even create missions for the bird with predetermined issues that would be worth flying.
