Whew! That was scary! That last turn on final looked >30! I could imagine loving being on that plane and all my friends tossin' their cookiees!Also was the rapid control movement due to a glitch of some sort?Thanks for sharing and I'll subscribe to see more PMDG planes.

[in the voice of Borat]Very nice!I know I shouldn't say this here but I will anyway. I never bought the MD-11 even though I've been a PMDG a really excited user for years. I felt I had a great long hauler in the FS9 & FSX versions of the 747 and that was enough. This and other MD-11 posts is giving me second thoughts. I've been waiting for the NGX to fill the hole in my hangar between the JS4100 and the 747.Chuck

Why shouldn't you say? I haven't bought it either for the same reason. I love the 747, and have plenty in that aircraft. The MD-11 is a beautiful airplane however! I'm waiting for the NGX too, and I'm certain that I'll continue to use the 747 alongside with the NGX until the 777. Then the Queen is going to get replaced, and then my fleet will consist of only the 737NG and the 777 Peace.gif

I emphatically recommend the MD-11 to anyone... It never caught on in the real world so of course the interest level isn't going to be as high as the more common widebodies it was supposed to be competing with. But it's a great simulation and beyond that, I think a really intuitive and easy aircraft to fly.

There was some sarcasm when I said I shouldn't say that I don't have it because people would say get it anyway. I'll probably retire the -400X when the T7 is released also.

I think the MD11 was a victim of some really bad timing more than anything. After the Boeing merger, it wasn't as if Boeing was going to scrap the 767 or 777 and market the MD11 instead. The MD95/717 was in a bit of a similar position.Another factor was just the times changing too fast for the old DC10 platform to keep up... as ETOPS has evolved, the need for the third engine has disappeared allowing the 767, 777, and A330 to take over the majority of the widebody workload.It has found its niche though for cargo operators... The economics work out pretty well with the wide-wide body allowing it to carry a lot of weight without bulking out.
