Cold and Dark start on day 1

Featured Replies

I would like to use the 737 from day one beginning in a cold and dark state. I know Ryan said that he will not have the tutorial done. Is there any way you all can at least make a flow sheet or checklist to start off from this state on release day? The whys and what's can maybe wait until tutorial 2 comes out later?

Just run a search in the Avsim library. You'll find something to get you on your way with the NGX. The 737NG isn't that difficult to operate (I'm not talking about professionalism). Heck maybe the tutorial from the original PMDG 737 (FS2004 version) can be sufficient to get started.

Download the FS2CREW checklist on avsim for the iFly version. Should be pretty much spot on the same. FRED

Angle of Attack are releasing their 737 training on the day of release.Judging by their previous courses for the MD11, 747 etc., the 737 version looks to be *very* good.

Just remember that their training won't be fully available on day one. They'll release what they have ready and the rest of it will be added as they finish filming them.

I've been looking all over for that information. :(

It's been on their website for a few months that training would be available on day 1. Like what was posted already, it won't be the entire package

From the looks of things in AOA's video, the IRS seems to be aligning for a while. If you guys come across a decent checklist, please provide links.

If you buy the PMDG manuals for the NGX, it has an excellent laminated checklist with a key ring. This checklist works good for FS2Crew, since they base that program on the same checklist.

Guys,The airplane does come with the real life Boeing manuals - all you need to do is follow the Amplified Normal Procedures in FCOM 1 (page 77 of the PDF) and it'll tell you exactly how to do a cold and dark startup. That's exactly what the second tutorial is going to follow along with. It doesn't get much better than the procedures Boeing actually tells pilots to use... "Checklists" aren't what you use to do a cold and dark startup anyway - they're simple lists of the critical items that need to be checked at the end of each phase of the normal procedures.Just so there's no misunderstanding here - the plane does come with the first tutorial flight. That flight starts out with the engines running though, that's all. It's an introductory flight for the average simmer, not a full blown run through of all the normal procedures by the book. The second flight will come a week or two after release and will have all that.
