For IFly to be comparable to what has been shown in the released AOA NGX video, they have to improve the clarity of their gauges, especially the PFD, and the HUD, which will have to be redone to be collimated, and add a brightness control. The really big thing they need to do is fix the mouse pointer performance issue once and for all, which so far they haven't been able to do. The problem appears to be within the model itself, as I tested by disabling all the gauges and systems, and the problem still exists. The graphic quality of model itself both interior, and exterior, seems to be of the same level as the PMDG, so there shouldn't be much work there. The system interaction like shown in Nicks System depth video would need to improve, however like Nick said 99% of the users won't even know about nor ever utilize that level of detail!
I hope you are joking Sir! The models arent even close, I love the iFly but the exterior model of the PMDG is far superior, and i can tell that just from videos and screen shots.

C'mon people - if there is going to be a debate about pricing structures re bundling would those whose argument is "if you don't like it don't buy etc.," please stop repeating this mantra - once is enough. You have made a valid point so let it alone. (and John E please don't take that personally) All contributions or replies of a similar manner are just regurgitating the same argument without contributing anything further to a debate that had legs and now appears to be running out of steam. Ask yourselves this: when is it not ok to have a debate about the way PMDG structure their pricing? So what that some responses are whinning and moaning - that is part of the debate process and heck, it may actually have a real effect on pricing structures with PMDG if a strong enough argument is convincing enough. And lastly, Let me just remind you that this forum talks about the US Dollar pricing. While those in the US have far greater spending power for their dollar, the actual purchase in local dollars for me is $80.40 plus exchange commissions- for the base package. My local dollar discretionary spend power goes a lot less further than the discretionary spending power of a US citizen (or an Australian for that matter). So debates about choices of purchasing online in US dollars should to be considered a little more carefully as this debate appears to have elicited responses from more than just US citizens last time I checked. When you market a product on the World wide web you obviously have the potential to gain a much larger cash flow than just marketing a product in one country. Producers of such products sometimes acknowledge this with different pricing structures on the web. I cannot see that happening in this case, but heck, it sure would be nice to pay just the advertised price of $70 in my local currency value particularly because $70 to me gives me a lot less spending power than $US70 to a US citizen

I understand your frustration, as being a US citizen anytime i buy something in euros or British pounds its always quite a step up. The problem is that they are located in the US and get paid in US dollars. So you paying 70 would be them giving it to you for 60. Cant really run a business and make exceptions for everyone else. But honestly its $10 more, not the biggest difference. As far as the pricing structure goes. i would rather have them released separately so that we can at least fly the -9/800 while the 6/700 are getting built. and if they included them all in one package you can bet it would be 85 to 90 anyway so as far as i see it your paying $5 to $10 more for an extra month of time with some of the models. So no complaints here. to each their own though.

Ray, 1. If the whinners arguments are the same each time, why can't the response be the same each time? 2. You do realize that a world wide seller doesn't pocket any extra profit when an exchange rate is applied, correct? Once your $80.40 is converted back into USD, PMDG pockets the same amount of USD as if it had sold to a US buyer.

Actually, I know this is slightly off point but to respond to your post Nick, when a company puts a product on the world wide web in my opinion being "based in the US" is not a valid argument. By choosing to use the Internet you are invariably opening a can of worms regarding pricing. Producers can 'get around' the difficulties of global pricing by having products priced in ' Internet dollars' or some such exchange. Companies like Gamersgate employ a bonus points scheme that credits users - something like that could possibly work. (Just some random thoughts).

Actually no I'm not, I think the main difference you are seeing is the HD Textures on the PMDG model not the quality of the model itself. If you look closely, you'll see the model is just as detailed as the NGX, (In fact there seems something strange with the nose of the NGX in the Walk around video, like it's elongated. It could just be though the aspect view angle used) the textures on the NGX though are better, because there HD. I don't think it will be long before McPhrat will start making textures for the IFly model in HD, as they have with other payware models.

Thanks

The peso is worth .08 USD. I wonder if we all moved to Mexico if PMDG would offer the NGX for almost free?

Only PMDG would have to move to Mexico! Regards, Mike Mann

Jjim, Take a chill pill. I see your response as insulting and not contributing to the debate but rather using ridicule in an attempt to humiliate.Grow up man Ray

Hmmm im not sure myself, i will reserve final judgement for when i have the PMDG next week and can compare them both side by side (so to speak), Theres some parts like the spoiler actuators and the flap actuators etc that look to me like the have been modelled a lot nice on the PMDG, but like i say i'll reserve final judgement for next week. This thread is WAY longer than I expected it too be. LOL Hey, Tom, can I get a free product from the Avsim store for having a super-long thread? haha With regards to IFLY, I think it is AWESOME that they released their first product and can essentially compete with PMDG and every other developer out there. Really top-knotch work from the IFLY team. How many developers out there offer a product of that magnitude as their first release and offer such tremendous customer service to back it up. I would put IFLY right up there at the top of the list customer support wise.

I think this thread is longer than the NGX video thread posted a few days ago. I have no idea why though. lmao
