Mmm, helping to feed the homeless is getting involved. Complaining about a fixed price that is set is wasting time.
Yeah, people should just accept all prices set by companies and move on. Silly.gif lol

Yes. People should accept the price of an item set by the company or: a. Not buy it.b. Make it yourself So, if you accept that complaining about the price is going to make a company drop everything and change its price, then best of luck to you. Pretty naieve...

In addition (running with the same train of thought), if you notice any problems with the aircraft don't bother to mention it because expecting them to change it is pretty naive. Regards, Mike Mann

but you can't really begin to compare the ifly with the pmdg (unless you're drunk ).Two different things..apples and oranges. It's just like looking at camilla parker bowles and a. jolie. My 0.2

Are you suggesting that the masses recoiling at the cost of something does not cause companies to reconsider pricing schemes? Pretty naive is right. Not buying a product, sending emails (by enough people), customers complaining, etc.. ALL factor into a companies decision to lower prices.

That really depends on the number of people, from what i have read most people are more than happy with the price (myself included). If only a small number of people complain then nothing will happen. Take F1 in the UK for example, on Friday it was annouched that the TV rights were moving to a shared deal with sky (a horrid pay TV Murdoch empire business). I am a huge F1 fan but will not pay over $100 a month to Murdoch; there have been 1000's of complaints to F1, the BBC and Bernie, but nothing will come of it. Under normal circumstances i would also wait for either a review or demo, but PMDG have delivered in the past so i trust them to deliver this time; if they do not then in future i would be less willing to trust them.

I think you are missing the point. Can a company like GM or Apple adjust their prices based on the criteria you listed, sure... although unlikely. Can a company like PMDG that serves a micro-niche community afford to change their prices on an already thin margin, probably not. But to each his/her own. I just don't see how fruitful the complaining will be.

I don't want to sound like a pessimist or anything but would you like to put money on that? hehe

I agree; you can only level the score if someone else is in the game, which PMDG isn't (at this time). Regards, Mike Mann

For IFly to be comparable to what has been shown in the released AOA NGX video, they have to improve the clarity of their gauges, especially the PFD, and the HUD, which will have to be redone to be collimated, and add a brightness control. The really big thing they need to do is fix the mouse pointer performance issue once and for all, which so far they haven't been able to do. The problem appears to be within the model itself, as I tested by disabling all the gauges and systems, and the problem still exists. The graphic quality of model itself both interior, and exterior, seems to be of the same level as the PMDG, so there shouldn't be much work there. The system interaction like shown in Nicks System depth video would need to improve, however like Nick said 99% of the users won't even know about nor ever utilize that level of detail!

Thanks

I don't understand this "don't underestimate IFLY" sentiment that I've seen recently. I think the whole point is that its not an estimation, they have put out a product. Thats what they are getting judged by. Its not like we are assuming anything. Their displays are blurry, HUD is not collimated..etc. Unless you are totally biased its pretty easy to tell that PMDG's offering will be more in depth and a more realistic depiction on the 737. IFLY is a very good deal for $50. to get the 600-900 from PMDG it's going to be $95. Honestly they just have different design intents. To think some free service pack is going to add substantially to the product is a pipe dream. IFLY will never have the system depth equivalent to PMDG, and that's not an insult to them. PMDG just went above and beyond what anyone would have expected. Moral of the story lets stop comparing them.

Obviously PMDG has upset you for some reason. Seems kinda a double standard though because when IFLY was in beta testing I constantly saw people talking about its features and about how it was great competition for PMDG. Obviously people felt IFLY was in the game before it was released, and rightfully so. Time to give PMDG the same attitude.

When IFLY was in beta then it was a level playing field; in that both products were pre-release at that time. Regards, Mike Mann

PMDG have been in the game from the start, you can't directly compare the products yet. But by piling the hype up they have ensured that their product is more talked about than one that is already on the market.Come August 4th we will find out if they are going to deliver on it....G
