PMDG 737NG Base Pack....what?

Featured Replies

I guess what's needed is one of those "captcha" graphics with your full name. scott s..
How about a support forum where you need to enter your order number to gain entry? Plenty of others have done it and it works well, it also avoids the childish tirades about signing posts that seem to take up much of the current PMDG forums.

This Also stops potential customers to see what problems the aircraft might have. You will be blind to it until you purchase the product. PMDG have made it clear they don't want that. REX forums probably have a good idea where you post your order number in your sig for support, the forum remains public. However PMDG often get you to submit a support ticket for larger support issues.

Oh, don't underestimate IFLY. The free 'feature pack' will level the score.Whistle.gifim%20Not%20Worthy.gif
Yes , the feature pack will level the score.

Holy smokes is this topic ever full of babies. Whining about the pricing, whining about the way PMDG operates their forums, whining about what plane they get for what price? Why don't you wipe the tears from your eyes and just be happy people are actually developing realistic add-ons for your flight simulator. Moaning over $70? What universe do you live in? It costs more than that to take your lady friend (granted if you're hanging around here pissing and moaning over $70, chances are you don't HAVE a lady friend) out for dinner and a movie than for a almost fully realistic multi-million dollar airplane simulation. And you are crying about it? You people need to grow up. A hat at a sports store is $35. I bought Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks hats last weekend. It cost me $73. For two hats. I went to the bar the other night for supper and a couple of drinks. That cost around $50. The computer that you're using to run FSX probably cost you over $1000. But the extra $70 for the 737 plus the OPTIONAL $25 for the 600/700 which is STILL under $100 is going to put you in the poor-house? What about the developers? The guys working 18+ hours a day to get this thing out to you? Because people were in the PMDG forums crying that it was taking too long, they wanted it now, they were sick of PMDG lying about when it was going to be released? Now you want their work for free? Do you go to the office in the morning, work from 9 until 5, then go home and call the boss and say "you know what, nevermind paying me for the hours I worked today, I figure we should pass some savings on to the customer" Not likely. PMDG posted their pricing. Either buy it, or don't buy it. Most of you probably have Core i7 CPU's and GeForce 580 video cards but you can't stand to drop $70 on the 737. Topics like this make me sick. You people are disgusting. Don't even get me started on the whining about "privacy" crap. You can't post your name? Because someone is going to steal your identity? Because nobody else in the universe has the same name as you? Unbelievable. My name is Jeff Calder. I'll be sure to watch out for imposters using my name...

You bet. Luckily for PMDG very few people will be in this forum crying about the price. Naturally when the plane is out there will be a bunch of topics of people whining about performance and bugs they find and how they got swindled and how their life is over because it's not what they expected but that's the way it goes. I just hope the PMDG folks don't take this whining garbage to heart and stop producing products. I still want the 777. I will buy all versions of the 737, even the ones I don't want, to support an outstanding company that puts A LOT of effort into what they do. If the NGX delivers half of what is promised, it is underpriced. Very few will admit it, but everyone knows it. No more opinions from me though, I'm sure not many people here will appreciate what I've said so far...

I'll start you - how about 8.6 million identity thefts in the US alone this year? As I have said before, and will continue to do so, posting a full name in a publicly searchable/viewable forum may seem insignificant, but more often than not it is only a part of the process used to steal an identity. Many people visit multiple forums, have facebook accounts and the like - the identity thief data matches different sources until they get enough to form the persona. Yes I know you may not have a facebook, twitter, linkedin, foursquare etc. account, but many others do. edit: oh and I have no problem with the price although I will probably skip the NGX and wait for the 777 - I already have a 737NGX that works fine for me.

Sorry but ANYONE that has a facebook account doesn't care too much about identity theft. Dont beleve me? Ask the FBI.

While I definitely appreciate the work PMDG has put into the 737, releasing the 800/900 first with the -700 as an expansion is a little silly. Obviously this is a business decision since most people want a 737-700 (more mainstream than the -800/-900, at least here in the U.S.) and this will require people to buy both. I can understand the reasoning in trying to get as much revenue as possible, PMDG is a business, but for those of us with not much interest in the -800/-900 series this product loses some of it's value. Basically, in order to fly the -700 series I am required to buy the -800/-900 first, which in turn bumps the price from $70 to almost $100. I wouldn't mind seeing a Base Pack -700 series so I don't have to buy the -800/-900. As it stands now, it looks like I will have to spend close to $100 to fly the -700. Err.......lol *EDIT* Not sure why my title has "...what?" in it. I think I was typing an email and accidentally had this page activated. Oops!
Im kind of glad they split it up. I really only wanted the 8/900 series anyway. For the earlier models i can fly the Wilco and IFly series.
