July 30, 201114 yr Author Thanks Nick, I did some "digging" and I found your profile. I am not sure if it is different based on the position of the camera on the monitor but I tend to have difficulty finding a position that shows the the displays. I would like to shift my view a bit lower and have not quite figured out how. It puts a bit of strain on my neck because I am finding that I am straining a bit to look down as a opposed to having a more natural view. I have tried adjusting the sliders but I have not quite figured it out yet. You profile is the best out of all the profiles I have tried. Any suggestions? Thanks Mike Keigley
July 30, 201114 yr Commercial Member The TrackIR profile does not affect the position of the camera in FSX at all, all it does is change HOW the camera in the sim reacts to your head movements. EZdok is the way to move the camera within the sim to set a good eye position. There are ways to do it without EZdok, but I have no idea how - it's certainly not as easy! Nick Collett i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz, GTX 480, 8GB Corsair 8-8-8-24, 300GB WD Velociraptor, Corsair HX850W
July 31, 201114 yr My TIR4 is sat in a drawer gathering dust since I got EZDOK, I found the constant pausing TIR to accurately hit a click spot to be too much hassle. I have several views setup for my 767 and assign a joystick button to each so I can smooth pan around the VC. Yeah TIR is good but not essential and personally I find it annoying - just my view :) You're making a mistake, buddy. Since the version 1.15 of EZDock, it's now compatible with TrackIR, and later versions, if I'm not mistaken, have even enhanced their compatibility. Just go ahead and configure EZDok with TrackIR, but on those camera views where you'd want to click something (like the MCP, FMC, overhead, throttle quadrant and so on, you can just disable the TrackIR button on them (just the same way you'd disable, or have disabled the three effects buttons on EZDok on these camera views), but on other cameras, like the normal sitting position, of captain and FO, enable TrackIR. That's actually the only two views on my EZCA setup, where I have TrackIR enabled, except on GA aircraft where I have passenger views and Bizjets like the cessna 510 Mustang, where I have passenger views setup for each passenger seat. All the passenger views have TrackIR enabled just like a passenger would sit on his seat and be able to look around, leaning forward, left, right, etc. But all other views including outside views and specific cockpit views that enable data imput, have TrackIR disabled. But then I guess it's a matter of choice. Chidiebere Anyahara
July 31, 201114 yr I've seen videos on TrackIR and EZDOK. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they both seem to do essentially the same thing. What is the advantage to having both programs? Wrong, m8. EZDok:1. create a lot more than 20 views of the same cockpit, for instance, mimicking all the pop-up 2D panels, but the difference is that when you click or press the button, the camera actually moves or 'floats' to that view, rather than the view just appearing (of course you can do that too, if that's what you want) you can even look under your seat if your wanted to, you can even set up a view that looks under the cockpit and find your ignition keys if they fall inside way behind the rudder pedals (God bless whoever it was that came up with this software!) 2. Real life vibration effects like turbulence, touchdown, takeoff/landing roll, head movement caused by turns, etc. 3. Outside walk cameras and cameras that are situated at a point in the world, (runway threshold, for instance), where you know your plane is going to pass by 4. example videos: http://www.youtube.c...73AA175DAB59E47 this video has trackIR and EZdok active TrackIR:Ability to move your head as in real life (look left to see the left window, right to see the FO's side, right down to see his rudder pedals, look behind to see the jumpseats or the circuit breakers, rather than using your hat switch. And did I mention that you can raise your head and look over the glareshield and even see the nose of the plane, and you can peek under to see the rudder. you can lean forward to see the instruments more clearly, and lean back to your normal position again. July 31, 201114 yr Cirrus22 (or Nick^^) Thank you very much for uploading your trackir profile! Would it be possible that you upload your EZDOK profile for NGX also? Keep up the good work with your marvelous video! Pierre Laine

July 31, 201114 yr Nick, thanks so much for making these wonderful videos of the NGX, I must say I am quite impressed with what I have seen so far. I heard about EZCA dock but never really pursued educating myself further on what the program actually does, after seeing what you have done with it in your videos I am quite keen on getting the program. Like you I myself have Track-IR 5 and have been using it on and off for a while because I still cant seem to get completely comfortable with it. I noticed you use both at the same time, and I am interested to hear your thoughts with the added camera movement from EZCA while using Track-IR, for example during turbulence or landing for that matter, does it interfere with trying to focus on the PFD or certain small items? Also would you be willing to maybe make a small video going over how to setup the program, integrate with Track-IR, and so on? I am really excited about increasing the level of immersion this program provides but I would like some further clarification and input before I decide to purchase it. Nick if you are too busy I fully understand but your input would be very much appreciated, I look forward to your future videos and again thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. July 31, 201114 yr Commercial Member As far as I know there is no way to export the EZdok 'General Settings'. You can export the DHM settings and cameras etc, but as for the rest it's all in the menus. Changing the panning settings is a piece of cake, just play around in the menu with the rotary settings to change the speed/smoothness etc. Angelo - the EZCA motion can make it difficult to hit clickspots sometimes, which is partly why I don't have it turned up all that high. PMDG has made very accessible clickspots for the NGX, so you shouldn't have any problem. There are a few videos on the simforums.com EZdok forum that are easy to follow and will get you set up in no time! Nick Collett i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz, GTX 480, 8GB Corsair 8-8-8-24, 300GB WD Velociraptor, Corsair HX850W

June 17, 201312 yr Hi Cirrus I lost the file for a failed drive, and I can not seem to find it, url 404 error, can you upload again ? June 21, 201312 yr Hey guys.I've been considering purchasing TrackIR for a while now and really can't make my mind up. It seems really cool, but the problem is, if I do purchase it, I'l be broke for half a year or more. You see, a 14 year-old like me doens't earn that whole lot of moneyXD. So what do you guys think, would it be worth it? For people on a budget, there is a project called FaceTrackNoir which uses a webcam and some open-source software. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK.
