July 30, 201114 yr Hey friends and volks in the avsim community. In the last couple of days, while i became more and more excited about the NGX release, i watched trough the videos Nick from "Angels of Attack" made about a hundert times just not able to get my eyes off it.There has been specifically one thing i was wondering about while i was watching the "Walk-Around" video.I am not quite sure if there is a after cabine modeled wich we can see from the cockpit like: *exiting the cockpit trough the cockpit door and then walking trough the after cabin* May anyone of you guys can help me out here. Kind regards awaiting the NGX, ReaperPr0

Kind regards awaiting the NGX, ReaperPr0 As far as im aware its only the cabin from the external view, the only way to enter is with a program like EZdok. I seem to remeber them saying that doing a aft cabin like on the 747 would just eat to much computer power. July 30, 201114 yr Unfortunately, Reaper, there is none modeled. I would have loved for there to be one, but it's one of those things that even though we want them so much, they're not really that important to waste polygons and framerates on, or to warrant the delay of the ngx release.I would have loved for them to add it in a service pack or something, and one can select or deselect it depending on machine capability, That's just my opinion, but then I understand why they didn't model that. There is an exterior model cabin, though (I don't know what they exactly called it, but you can see it from the outside, when you look through the windows), and believe me, from what I saw in Nick's video, it looks a lot better than most dedicated (if I could use that word) cabins on most other addon aircraft. July 30, 201114 yr How about an option to select it on or off for high end pc's? Just a suggestion :) Marc M.
July 30, 201114 yr Author Indeed that would be pretty nice to have the ability of togging the cabin. Lets just hope for the PMDG team to maby add it later on and focus on the veeeeery close release. :D Anywho i would like to thank everyone for your fast response to my topic.
July 30, 201114 yr there is no virtual cabin, actually no need of something like that, never used it in the cap sim 757, it just eats performance, i´m happy pmdg didnt do that. the ngx is just perfect! If you can´t read it, you can´t fly it. Real world B777F pilot
July 30, 201114 yr yeah I don't see the point of interior cabin either. Uses frames and all for just visual not usefull stuff so it's better to leave it out, it really don't make an add on more or less realistic. Aurelien Vandoorine
July 30, 201114 yr also remeber they would only use the best photo textures that are perfect and unblurred just like they did with the cockpit. This is thier new baby and thier new Flagship so it would have to be perfect. In order to do this I think it would take another 3 or 4 months and hard labor to make it. Thats alot of extra work for somthing most customers would not be intrested in. That plus all the extra high res texture your PC would need to load. July 30, 201114 yr Think how much time you would REALLY want/need to spend in the rear galley. Personally, I spend very little time outside the VC when flying except sometimes I may use spot view when taxiing at an unfamiliar airport so I can see ahead to where my turns are or sometimes to take screenshots from spot view to post on forums. July 30, 201114 yr I don't mind when developers make detailed virtual cabins, but it's not something I want to see. Personally I think it's a waste of development time and resources, but to each their own. I prefer to play "Microsoft Flight Simulator", not "Microsoft Passenger Simulator". July 30, 201114 yr The only thing I would ever care to be simulated, would be the area just outside the cockpit, and the ability to open the flight deck door. Even though that last time I flew on a NG the flight deck door was closed the entire pax loading process. Anything above that I would consider a waste of resources. July 30, 201114 yr Commercial Member We do not have a virtual cabin modeled. As our mission statement on our web site states: With each product, our goal is to provide education and entertainment for customers interestedin the complex environment of commercial aviation. A virtual cabin is nice, but we're really about flying, and bringing the world of commercial aviation to the desktop. Also, to add a cabin to an already detailed cockpit (in the extreme) just isn't worth any performance hit it may bring, and we're not going to model a cabin that looks like a room full of blue boxes. We do have, however, a moderately detailed cabin that can be seen through the windows of the external model, and which is also the camera location for all of the wing views. You can see a glimpse of the cabin in the Angle of Attack walk-around video located here. (move the time slider of the video to 8:20) The only thing I would ever care to be simulated, would be the area just outside the cockpit, and the ability to open the flight deck door. Even though that last time I flew on a NG the flight deck door was closed the entire pax loading process. Anything above that I would consider a waste of resources. To do that would require us to simulate the mechanisms in place to unlock and open the cockpit door, which is one of the few things we will not simulate (by policy). That sounds like a very good reason to me. July 31, 201114 yr Sorry, but I don`t actually understand what do you mean with "by policy".....could somebody explain? Eduardo Rubini
