August 1, 201114 yr BTW what the tutorial flight will teach and what do you have to learn by reading manuals instead ? Thx Mark, the first tutorial runs through a flight from CDU preflight to shutdown. It walks you through some route modifications in the FMC, and shows you how to use some of the features on the HGS and how to perform an autoland. Those are the high points, at least...Ryan has done an outstanding job with the tutorial! Reading the manuals instead? There's a lot more in the manuals...as JR has said elsewhere, you're going to be learning about this airplane for years. August 1, 201114 yr I only do test flights/practice takeoffs and landings at Edwards AFB. Yes, a little silly, but since it is a test base I figured it is appropriate. I actually don't fly out of any other airport until I know how to complete a flight.
