August 2, 201114 yr Hi all, http://www.mdexter.com/files/files/spirals.jpg As pictured, I have spirals in the sky everywhere, doesnt matter what scenery it is the spirals are there, any ideas anyone how to fix this.......many thanks in advance for anyone that could help....or at least point me in the right direction :)
August 2, 201114 yr That's a visualisation of thermals - you can switch them off in your weather settings.
August 2, 201114 yr Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that is because you have set "Thermal Visualization" to "On." in Settings->Weather. I had that problem and I think that solved it. Let me know if there is a different solution. Andrew EDIT= darem beat me to it!!! :-)
August 2, 201114 yr What are you guys talking about? This isn't normal? Why do I see that when I look outside my window, huh?

August 2, 201114 yr Author Yep, thanks Darem... I turned off Thermal Visualizations in weather and they are now gone...:) Many thanks, hmm you would think that they could do better with thermal visulizations!!
August 2, 201114 yr hmm you would think that they could do better with thermal visulizations!! But they can! Set "Thermal visualization" to "Natural" - now you will see birds soaring instead of the spirals. August 2, 201114 yr But they can! Set "Thermal visualization" to "Natural" - now you will see birds soaring instead of the spirals. Then after some wacky weed the birds turn into pigs.
August 2, 201114 yr If you can see those darn birds that is. There is a replacement available that creates a sort-of funky cumulus cloud over the thermal. Not the best but you can find the thermals without having spirals all over. scott s..
August 2, 201114 yr But then be aware that those thermal marking clouds will always be there especially when using any real time weather. You would be surprised to know how many times someone will write to me about clouds in their FSX when the weather calls for no clouds, and they have forgotten about this, or other gliding add-ons that add in cloud markers.

August 3, 201114 yr You think the birds are small to see, smaller flies, no way! Convert those bird textures to PX-3 and they'll really fly!! (yes PX instead of DX)
August 3, 201114 yr Author But they can! Set "Thermal visualization" to "Natural" - now you will see birds soaring instead of the spirals. Brilliant, thanks very much for that, where do I find the Bird textures to change to PX-3? And what program will convert them to PX-3? Many thanks guys
