August 3, 201114 yr The 900ER Ariane is at least twice as expensive as the NGX, and not even a quarter the airplane. The VC textures are terrible. I would also like to say... where's the lock? Cristi Neagu

August 3, 201114 yr Great thread. Compelling and rich. Almost bought their product, but I think it was here a year or probably more ago if anyone had any experience, and it is the same old sad story. Con job, rip off, no support, no upgrades. Glad I didn't go and buy it then, elated I didn't now. August 3, 201114 yr Oh boy... this reminds me of a scene from Seinfeld... with the soup natzi... "No soup for you!" When the guys from PMDG get back and read this thread, they're going to be like "No NGX for you!" Cristi Neagu
August 3, 201114 yr I am also a victim of Ariane. Yeah yeah, I read all the warnings before I bought it, but I thought, hey, can't be all that bad eh? Well 2 months yes months, after I ordered it, it shows up at my door. (DVD) All the checklists and other swag "promised" with the DVD are absent. Oh well, lets fly this sucker!! install, fire up the sim, nothing works! Have to activate it. 11 days later the activation email arrives. Worst company I have dealt with EVER!!!! And to be honest, the plane isn't that great either. It pascified me until the Ifly went to market for fsx. Now the Ifly is pascifying me until the Creme de la creme is released. August 3, 201114 yr I bought the Ariane 737-800 when I was getting desperate for a 737 to fly in FSX. It works fine for me but with the buginess of FSX when stopping the SIM to load the flight plan under the Ariane drop down menu even after already initially loading it in the preflight mode in FSX, I would get those graphics issues notorious with FSX under WIN 7 64 bit. The plane is okay but since I used to fly PMDG 737 in FS9 since its inception, I like most of you all will stick with the NGX when it comes out soon. The Ariane base packs are $100 for each variant in addition to the charge for the small the livery packs. I know what people will say, why would you pay that much? Desperation for me since the PMDG 737 was my mainstay and even after trying to get it to work in FSX, I needed something in the interim. I even bought the PMDG MD-11 with money I intended to use for the NGX but so much time was going by and the MD-11 is an awesome plane in its own right. I want a 737 plane for the realistic 1-2 hour flights that I do. Flying the MD-11 from LAX to SFO isnt very realistic though a charm to operate. I dont fly many widebodies since I dont want to sit down for 5+ hours and speeding up the sim to 8X isnt my cup of tea. So the Ariane plane got me through this dry spell ,but like the CLS DC-10 that I dumped after getting the PMDG MD-11, so will I do with the Ariane 737. Timothy Murphy
August 3, 201114 yr I usually stick to my rule that I will not buy a product unless I can read their forums without buying their product and registering first. Closed forums to me says they are hiding something. I clicked on their support link today and it takes you to a FAQ. No support forum or ticket submission system. I seriously considered buying this some time ago to hold me over but I am glad I had patience and stayed away from this nightmare everyone is describing. Chuck Biggins
August 3, 201114 yr Just wanted to say I'm in before the lock lol..... On a more serious note though, I was going to buy the Ariane 737 a while back but the pictures on there website led me away from buying it. Idk what it was about the plane but it seemed like a halfway developed type of product, not to mention they charge way to much like others have said. August 3, 201114 yr I just don't believe it is realistic to compare the NGX to anything that has been previously done. Actually the closest thing that you can compare the NGX to would probably be the A2A Boeing 377 or B17 with Acu-Sim, and since they are such a different class of aircraft, it is still hard to compare.I believe that, as of this Thursday, we are stepping into a new era in desktop flight simulation and there is no looking back (except to the MD11 and J41). August 3, 201114 yr IBTL I also considered the Ariane also to fill the short flight role in FSX. I was using the LDS 767 and that just wasn't feeling right. But when I almost chocked on the price I went with the less expensive Wilco/FeelThere E-Jets, and boy am I thankful. The E-jets are a great alternative to the 737 if you are only doing 1-3 hour flights and about half the price of the Ariane. The flight model is nice and the CDU/FMC is decent too plus lots of repaints if you buy the MCPhat Studios livery pack. All in all it has been a great plane while I wait for the NGX. I even took it on a world tour and visited every country in the world (plus some territories/colonies) with a runway long enough (it only took 472 hours and 18minutes of flight time over a two year period). August 3, 201114 yr I suggest people simply Google 'Ariane'. They have been exposed many many times on these forums. Waste of time but warnings are worth it still. Randy J Smith
