I think I found a clue to all those problems...

That's the very box, now mine's not radiating outwards along the top like yours but there's something I noticed with FS that if flying at night and there are stars in the sky, as they move along the sky, when they hit the top of the screen, they are supposed to move of but instead they leave a white trace on the top of the screen. Don't know if this is related but that is definitely the box.
It sounds like it's not refreshing. Like when Windows is doing something intensive and you start dragging a window about and it leaves traces on the screen. Interesting...

Alrighty then.
This is what you see, right? Doesn't show right here... one moment Can you see it? My case is not bleeding from stars but from clouds.

I get this with as well with other aircraft, just a nuisance.

Also, all these problems might have something to do with the dll.xml file getting screwed up... Hmm... maybe the PMDG dll's are having a hard time talking to the sim because things don't get initialized properly. Either way... there's something to this white box thing.
The NGX only uses dll.xml for the HGS. The only problem you'd see from a corrupted dll.xml is the HGS symbology not appearing. It can't blank the displays or crash the plane like it could with the MD-11 and 744.

No, in the VC, See pic belowOkay, you can't see it too well there, it's actually a bit to the left of the arrow.

Yeah, that i've seen. But form what other posters said, when the installation writes to the dll.xml file, it sometimes causes loading problems with other addons like FSUIPC. And if the NGX uses FSUIPC to interface with the sim in some way... maybe there's your problem... if it doesn't... then nevermind:)

I see it, I have that everywhere and it's indeed annoying, but minimal.

+1 on the little white box. Mine lives in the upper left corner of the display, about 3x3 pixels. Full screen or windowed mode makes no difference.

hi ryan Interesting you mentioning that a dodgy dll.xml file would cause the HGS symbols not appear.... I tried to have a play with the HGS using the default startup state (with engines running, switches in the right place etc), but I could NOT see the HGS symbols. At first I thought maybe there was a way to switch it on that I didnt know about, but having seen your post above on corrupted dll.xml makes me think this is my issue? Do I need a new dll.xml? How do I fix this? Or am I doing something wrong (I wouldnt be surprised :)) Thanks for any advice Paul

I also have this white box

Ok yeah, sometimes its in patchy spots along the top and left, but more often more solid like.If I turn anti-aliasing completely off, whether I'm letting FSX do it, or CCC do it, the anomalies go away, but of course now my whole FSX is a world of jaggies which is just unacceptable. This phenomenon only happens with the NGX.All my other addon AC (CS757/757, iFly, Flight 1, Carenado, etc.) don't cause these graphic edge anomalies with AA turned on. I have some info on the original topic: The "window" is normal and is part of the simulation. It's not part of the freeze problems or anything like that, it's supposed to be there. It disappears when the panel freezes because all the gauges are getting killed in the freeze. The other stuff with the white stripe etc is a normal FSX thing, I see it too and always have, not just with PMDG planes.

Really? This is normal?Looks like a big dead pixel in the upper left corner of my screen, is there not a way for you guys to hide this?Maybe it doesn;t stick out on lower end monitors, but on my IPS panels its bothersome, especially at night.
The other stuff with the white stripe etc is a normal FSX thing, I see it too and always have, not just with PMDG planes.
Not me brother, being a large format photographer for thirty plus years I have a pretty keen eye for detail. On both my calibrated 24" Dell Ultra Sharp IPS and 24" Pro Eizo Coloredge CG monitors, the images at the edges in FSX are clean as a whistle with every stock and addon plane except the NGX.But thanks anyways.
