August 6, 201114 yr This might work for others, it certainly did for me. Ive gone from 25 Frames per sec to 50 by ditching my old fsx.cfg and rebuilding a new one, then tweaking with *******. I already had a ******* tweaked .cfg before the NGX install but the fresh one works even better after. Not sure if this is a coincidence or what would have changed to make things better ??? Have a go and report back as im interested to know if this works for all ;o) Gary Blake.

August 6, 201114 yr Hmmm, not convinced why this would work but I'll give it a try. Must remember to back up my old cfg file first! Ed Haslam

August 6, 201114 yr What happens in FSX is everytime you install a addon it updates the config file with in FSX. Don't forget to add that if you decide to change things such as cloud draw distance, density or traffic etc it is constantly changing it. Good tip once you have found your good balance leave everything along and just have your new config file rebuilt. a config file is very very easily corrupted and not to add that the original file is not notepad format. Good example is REX if you select 4096 rez you go in to fsx settings and change cloud density it will put it straight back to 1024 default
August 6, 201114 yr So what exactly are we supposed to do, just delete the FSX.cfg? What are you saying when you talk about changing the draw distance and traffic density? Rónán O Cadhain.
August 6, 201114 yr So what exactly are we supposed to do, just delete the FSX.cfg? What are you saying when you talk about changing the draw distance and traffic density? No what im saying is sometimes it can be a good idea to refresh the config file..
August 6, 201114 yr by deleting it you mean and letting FSX generate a new one itself. But what were you refering to when you talked about the cloud and traffic settings please? Rónán O Cadhain.
August 6, 201114 yr No what im saying is sometimes it can be a good idea to refresh the config file..If you have rex installed look at your texture max line if it says 4096 then go to fsx change your cloud density then go back in fsx.cfg and check texture max again i bet it now says 1024 What happend especially with REX is if you change anything in the settings option with in FSX it will automatically restore it back to its default texture size = 1024
August 6, 201114 yr Ahh right, grand, sorry I knew that, thought you were on about something else. =S Rónán O Cadhain.
August 6, 201114 yr ...not to add that the original file is not notepad format....What does that mean? Johan Pettersen
August 6, 201114 yr What does that mean?sorry when you first install fsx it is not notepad is it you have to ask it to be opened in notepad
August 6, 201114 yr so the script is: delete cfg, then run the sim and close it down, then apply the ******* altuve tweaks? paul
August 6, 201114 yr Yeah guys back up your old fsx.config to copy across any tweaks you require. delete the old one start FSX let it rebuild a new one then copy in your tweaks bobs your uncle. Remember to when prompt to say yes to the gauges addons xml etc
