This is good advice if you're having issues - back up your old one first and then rebuild and run through the ******* tool.

It's ok not a silly question. Right go to your fsx.config file back it up. delete the other one, open fsx let it rebuild the cfg allow everything through as your normally would. * you will have to apply all of your sound and graphic setting too. then if you have tweaks from the old one just copy then lines into your new refreshed cfg file. any problems just holler
When you say tweaks what exactly do you mean? Like going into the file and modifying the settings within rather than in the FSX menus? Thanks,Mitch Bowman

Yes, that's exactly what that means...There are "hidden" tweaks to FS that is not available from the within the GUI.

Just did the rebuild and have seen a definite improvement in frame rates. Gone from 15 to 20 up to 27 - 30 (locked). Mark.

I see one change from rebuilding my cfg file.My last exit of FSX did not give me a CTD/error message. FSX just gracefully stopped running with no fuss. First time I've seen it do that in years!

By doing this I just increased frames by 20-25FPS THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS

So lets say this works. Do you scrap and rebuild your config + tweak before or after installing the NGX? I am asking because i am about to start my install.

1) Install the NGX first. Extract the zip file, run as admin. 2) After install start FSX and load the NGX, this is where you register it. Once done, close FSX, restart your computer. 3) Now backup your fsx.cfg file and restart FSX. It will rebuild your file and all setting will go basic. 4) Reset your FSX settings (I suggest using NickN's settings at simforums). Link to the full Windows XP/7 and FSX setting guide. http://www.simforums...187.html#198187 5) Run your FSX.cfg file through the Bejote tweeks here: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html 6) Start FSX and you are ready to go.
