August 8, 201114 yr Author I had CH yoke & pedals for years. Never really liked them that much. Also had issues with them after the 1st year. Now have Saitek. MUCH better feel and quality. BEWARE though... The Saitek yokes are obviously either made under licence by variopus manufacturers, or they've changed quality. I've seen both metal and plastic variants in the UK. If you can buy from a store, you'll get to see first. Hi mate, What do you mean by metal and plastic variants? I have just ordered one today and I need to check tmr if they are in good condition and well made. Cheers,Frank Z. C
August 8, 201114 yr Word Not Allowed, Amazon will ship it to your doorstep, and it's really so cheap! It really is a lot better than just silicone sprays because it also contains Teflon powder (invented by DuPont, as in the plastic surface of non-stick frying pans). It really is a game changer! August 8, 201114 yr Sorry for delay with reply (not very well:-( ) I should have clarified further - sorry. It's the separate throttles that come with the yoke that varies between plastic and steel. The yoke itself is always hard plastic body and yoke with steel shaft. Looks and 'feels' quite robust compared the CH model. Although, I have seen differences in the quality of moldings for the yoke itself. The first two throttles I came across had hard plastic bodies, but with cast alloy levers. These are much more substantial than later models with injection molded levers. Either way, I still MUCH prefer them to the CH models. August 8, 201114 yr I would maybe consider the new Cessna Saitek Yoke. It has a 90 deg inclination left and right as opposed to the 45 deg inclination of the standard Saitek yoke. Something to consider. http://www.saitek.com/

Something to consider. http://www.saitek.com/ Yeah, I would have got that one myself if I had known it was coming out. (only purchased my Saitek a month ago) The metal shaft on the Saitek is 100% better than the plastic CH yoke. In calibration with FSUIPC you can clearly see that the Saitek axis are more accurate than the CH version. The ony issue with the Saitek for me is that the center detent can feel somewhat off putting at times Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 9, 201114 yr ...The ony issue with the Saitek for me is that the center detent can feel somewhat off putting at timesA center detent (on ailerons I suppose) is something I could not put up with: It's like having a center detent on the steering wheel of your car. Would drive me nuts! Cheers, - jahman.
August 9, 201114 yr You can get rid of center detent on the Saitek very easily. Open up, are just couple of screws, remove springs, just detach them and you are done. You can do the same for ailerons and elevators.
August 9, 201114 yr I returned my Saitek yoke for my CH Eclipse. MUCH smoother. I can't even put it into words how much better it feels. I had a rather long thread pertaining to the issues I experienced with the Saitek offering (I can't remember the forums I posted in), and needless to say I could not get rid of it fast enough. I returned it to Newegg and after sending them a list of the issues I had with the yoke they refunded my money right away. The biggest issue I had with it besides the ridiculous detent on the column (I am really suprised it is not mentioned more often) was the fact that the yoke would just not maintain calibration. It seemed like every time I restarted my computer I had to re-calibrate and so some other stuff just to get it too work. I thought this may have been an issue on my end, but after doing some research I found out I certainly was not the only one. At ther opposite end of the spectrum, my Eclipse NEVER has an issue and is very precise (just like their Fighterstick USB I have). That detent was the worst though...it drove me crazy. Can you remove them? Sure...but I don't think I should have to void the warranty on it just to get it to feel "right". I have used Saitek and CH sticks for years and the Saitek hardware never stood the test of time. I figured it was just that they were joysticks and not really "built for longevity" and that the yoke would be much different. Nope. I, personally, will never buy another one of their sticks again. I don't care how many lights or company logos they put on their products. Having said that, my CH Fighterstick is still going strong after years and years and 4 moves. The only justification for buying the TM Warthog I have was I wanted something new (and something specifically for DCS Warthog)...I just can't find a fault with the CH gear I have. lol Of course, my main controller of choice now is the TM Warthog...nothing I have tried can touch that (it isn't cheap or small though). In the end, some love Saitek yokes, others hate them. Same with CH. It doesn't hurt to try both products and decide what is best for you. August 9, 201114 yr My Saitek's good enough for the price I suppose, but it really feels horrible under certain circumstances. Works ok when using both hands, but when only using a single hand you're applying uneven pressure on the shaft, so it becomes very rough and stiff meaning it's almost impossible to execute a pitch and roll manoeuvre simultaneously (remind me never to use "shaft" and "stiff" in the same sentence here again!). I've had three of the things, all of which have been the same in this respect. I know there's various mods that may alleviate this somewhat, but I'm not sure I really fancy giving them a go. The quality of the throttles is also very poor. They have very cheap little pots and both of my throttles have uneven axis spikes, making them unusable for mapping to individual throttle control. Certainly aesthetically nice and much more involving than a joystick, yet doesn't even come close to feeling like the real deal. i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson

August 9, 201114 yr HelloI have three yokes here, the CH yoke the AETI AFCS II and the Saitek. I use the Saitek, for me it is far better than the Ch product and don't get me started about the CH throttle quad which was just really poor. The AETI has the nicest movement but the buttons are really poor membrane type, one day I will get around to replacing them and converting it to USB with the BU0836X card
