August 9, 201114 yr Author +1 UsePools=0 is for testing (i.e., toggling BP on and off). With an i7 2600K, this should be a five step process: 1. Delete fsx.cfg2. Rebuild fsx.cfg3. Sliders right4. Run fsx.cfg through venetubo5. August 9, 201114 yr There has been so much crap advice on the NGX forum since release, i'm surprised any body is flying at all. With the exception of a couple of users on this thread like Word Not Allowed and Ryan, the rest is bollocks.
August 9, 201114 yr Here we go, if you hear someone cursing FSX in 5 min you will know why! There are too many out there giving false advice, I recently saw an AoA member, I believe it was Nick, who also had said settings. I'm slowly holding my head not to bump against the table...
August 9, 201114 yr Author I do see a bit better performance just wiping the fsx cfg, now for the tweaking system There are too many out there giving false advice, I recently saw an AoA member, I believe it was Nick, who also had said settings. I'm slowly holding my head not to bump against the table... And Word Not Allowed, you think you can help me get my 2600K above 4.5GHz without it trying to eat me?I noticed the tweaker makes FSX Shader3 compatible, should I use that or get rid of it? -Ryan Vince Quote from 911 magazine: "- ...RSR delivers unparallelled performance and stunning looks"

I noticed the tweaker makes FSX Shader3 compatible, should I use that or get rid of it? Check overclockers club and related sites. I've seen plenty of users reporting 5+GHz with decent vcore (i.e., that won't cause your CPU to eat you). This guide is a good start, from what I understand (although I have the 965EE): http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265056-29-2600k-2500k-overclocking-guideTrevor

I noticed the tweaker makes FSX Shader3 compatible, should I use that or get rid of it? Get rid of shader3, it's completely useless. Not even performance thing. Bojote said that himself.I don't know of how much help can I be, but I suggest you go to the hardware forum about that, there are many people there, including myself often. And that's the right topic for there. It's not about CPU eating you, but rather are you reading to buy a 2nd one if you ruin this one?

August 9, 201114 yr Awesome.Use this: http://www.overclock.net/intel-general/910467-ultimate-sandy-bridge-oc-guide-p67a.htmlMy personal is 1.52 for 5.0.Quite easy to OC if you follow this guide.
August 10, 201114 yr Be careful with yalls overclocks. FSX can and probably will still crash even if your CPU oc is completely stable. Any CTD you're getting with a faulting g3d.dll, d3d9.dll, or ntdll.dll is related to system stability. Trey Akins
August 10, 201114 yr Are you using TrackIR? I'm noticing a huge drop in frames when using TrackIR...I'll go from 30 in the VC, and fire up TrackIR and that's halved. Of course I expect some penalty with it, but I've not experienced such a hit with other aircraft. What are you guys seeing with and without TIR? -Cory Crabtree
August 10, 201114 yr "Be careful with yalls overclocks" lol good one Trey lol, I'm just sayin.. Trey Akins
August 10, 201114 yr This has to be the fourth or fifth "You don't know what tweaks you're doing" replies with almost no constructive help.C'mon guys! If you're going to blast folks for "doing it wrong", tell them how to do it right. If you know the tweak (or better yet why it shouldn't be applied) then say it.Share your knowledge so we can pass it on. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
