August 10, 201114 yr For me it was really worth it. With the PMDG 747/737NGX I went from 8-15 (unplayable as far as I'm concerned - had no choice but to use the 2D cockpit) to 25-30 (capped at 30) FPS even in areas such as KJFK. Wonderful.I have a system very similar to yours but an i-7 930 samve video card same amount of DDR3 (win7 64). My FPS are better then 8-15 well probably around 15 in high AI traffic high scenary areas in the VS with the 744X, places like JFK or LHR. Seems are though the NGX will take more FPS then the 744? Also seems like these changes are a bit complicated or are they made easy in the manuels? I am not buying the plane for a bit due to time constraints but I am getting a tad worried with all these FPS issues. Steven Herzberg Steven Herzberg, "I rather be flying"

Steven HerzbergIf you consider your 744 flyable then I'm sure you'll be satisfied with the ngx. I don't have the 744 installed right now but as best I can recall the ngx performs equally well, if not betterEDIT: the tweaks you mentioned are straight-forward & easy to do. The most important/effective is running your fsx.cfg through *******' tweaking webpage. It's all pretty well documented & easy to follow. Steven Herzberg I have made a couple more trips now with the PMDG 744 and I would think that the 744 performs only slightly better than my 737NGX. That said; since I installed the limiter that slight performance difference between the two are negligible (I keep getting blown away by the difference with and without the limiter. For me it really was a ridiculous difference). Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
August 13, 201114 yr Couple of quick questions re the FS Limiter - Does the batch file window have to be left open? The 'press key to close' does not appear until FSX closed - Any way to stop the green frame figures appearing on the screen? Thx William Hall
August 13, 201114 yr FWIW, I am using antilag. No batch files (has an .ini file and a good readme). Drop both files in your FSX root folder and it is basically transparent. Set and forget. FSX must be set to "Unlimited" internally!!! Why? Because, I do not know! (goggle ******* FSX tweaks for a tech explanation). In addition to ukflight's question above, does antilag start automatically when you start fsx our must you start it first our after? Eric
August 13, 201114 yr FYI- I have been using FPS Limiter for a while and noticed a real improvement. When I read this thread I thought I'd give Antilag a try. It is much simpler to set up and, as far as frame limiting goes, it does the job. One drawback I'm experiencing is that my system does not responds to Alt+Enter as expected. It seems that the change to a smaller screen takes place in the background but the full-screen rendering of the VC stays as it was. The click spots and Ctl+C no longer work. When I went back to FPS Limiter I no longer had this problem.
