Hello,i have done as PMDG as advised and changed my Aircraft cfg via ******* 'Bojote' Altuve but when i download the last instuction the external fps limiter and click on it and it just flashes a black box and nothing else can some one please help.many thanks you are a great bunch of folks.james.

Hi,at least in my case it did. Improving frames from ~18 to ~23 fps makes a very noticable difference!

Before you're mislead, the external FPS limiter does not raise FPS, but rather caps it and makes the sim less likely to have those irritating "surges", especially when panning in external view. Some claim it helps with blurries but firstly I don't have blurries, and secondly when I did on my old system, the ex. FPS limiter didn't help. What does make FSX perform better is having the internal FPS limiter on unlimited.

For me it was really worth it. With the PMDG 747/737NGX I went from 8-15 (unplayable as far as I'm concerned - had no choice but to use the 2D cockpit) to 25-30 (capped at 30) FPS even in areas such as KJFK. Wonderful.

FWIW, I am using antilag. No batch files (has an .ini file and a good readme). Drop both files in your FSX root folder and it is basically transparent. Set and forget. FSX must be set to "Unlimited" internally!!! Why? Because, I do not know! (goggle ******* FSX tweaks for a tech explanation).

Easiest fix is to quit switching between the two! There's no difference in performance on my PC so I just leave it windowed all the time.

Hi Kenneth. Yes i was wondering about performance in windowed mode because i've never paid attention to that before. So if there's no difference, i think i'm going to go for it because it is definately the better limiter. The only thing that bugged me was the black screen thing because i use Radar contact meaning black sctreen every time i minimize to start it up. Also a pain if you want to tweek EzDoK.Regards,

Your mileage may vary.I've found myself in an unexpected situation. Using 2 gtx580's to run 3 monitors in surround I get 15-30 fps no matter what I do. With all settings at minimum or max, stock airport or fsdt's kord, full screen or windowed, nothing makes more than 10-15% difference so I just maxed everything & am learning to deal with the low frames
