August 16, 201114 yr I read on another company's thread that AVSIM has a policy of not allowing comparisons of products from different companies on their forums (it allegedly encourages flame wars). A loose interpretation of that could be that any thread that cold IMPLY a comparison of products is not acceptable (for example pointing out to another company's documentation could imply that the documentation is incomplete... I have had one of my threads locked and another deleted presumably for that reason. Henri Henri Arsenault
August 16, 201114 yr Is there a link to this checklist as yet, if many have found this useful, sure I will too!Cheers
August 16, 201114 yr still no word a!!!! amazing Maybe they have more important matters to attend to?

Henri Henri, your post about documentation was locked, because it was patently absurd (complaining about lack of documentation when we have provided you with over 3,000 pages of text and diagrams directly from Boeing), and posted as, what seemed clearly to us, a backdoor way to promote a competitor product. August 16, 201114 yr as far as supplied documentation goes....this is beyond any shadow of a doubt the best documented addon ever. They actually supply the Boeing manuals. Think about this. They give to us the manuals used by real pilots/maintenance crew for the real aircraft. The one that costs $10's million.. Because for just about the first time we actually need them. paul

I have bought your product and I have never bought an IFly product, nor have I ever communicated to anyone at IFly or about any IFly product, and I am not promoting their product. If you can tell me where in your manuals or anywhere else is a free diagram identifying all the panel buttons and their functions, and where there is a compact checklist of the kind posted on another thread, I would be happy to check them out. I am only trying to be helpful to other PMDG customers and to call things the way I see them. Henri Henri Arsenault

Henri Well.. you can start with the Boeing manuals supplied with your PMDG 737NGX download (located in start menu>programs>PMDG Simulations>PMDG737 NGX>. Chapter1, Section 20, Page 1.20.1 (or page 17 of the pdf file) entitled (get ready for this) "Instrument Panels". Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
August 17, 201114 yr I find the process of looking for a particular chapter in the PDF FCOMs very tedious and hard to fully comprehend on a computer screen. Gonna buy the physical copies eventually.

Henri@Henri As mentioned in the other 'locked' post, you are clearly trying to stir things for whatever agenda. Hundreds if not literally thousands have bought this aircraft and are quite happily flying it joyfully without the aid of a 'compact' checklist et al. That was merely done by somebody else as an additional aid. Never having flown this aircraft before,on the day I bought it I just went through the tutorial ---which anyone with half an ounce of flightsimming skill if one is going to start flying a complex aircraft like this one, which by all consensi that I've read within these Forums is by far the very best that has ever been for a flight sim,requires,---and successfully managed a first flight and landing. And I've have been successfully flying it ever since amassing over a 100 hours in a short space of time, all stemming from a well-wriiten tutorial by Ryan. Anything else that I have needed to find, such as turning up the panel lighting at night time,or anything else, etc, I have just looked it up in the as stated over 3000+pages of an idiot-proof well indexed manuals. It is not too difficult to locate anything. That checklist is handy but not the ultimate 'must-have' as this plane can be prepared and flown without it. Rick Almeida

(not talking about henri but the OP)Of course there is nearly everything found in the 3000+ pages but there are people who appreciate the work of those which take time in helping ... and those people have less than half an ounce of flightsimming skill ? wow ... August 17, 201114 yr so you are saying that people who contributing to the community and making compact checklists and flowcharts are wasting their time ? (not talking about henri but the OP)Of course there is nearly everything found in the 3000+ pages but there are people who appreciate the work of those which take time in helping ... and those people have less than half an ounce of flightsimming skill ? wow ...No,I am not stating that and if you read my post carefully, nowhere do I state that. Pray tell how come 1000s managed to fly this plane from the date it was released without any kind of 'checklist'? Admittedly, that checklist devised by the OP is a bonus bit and useful but NOT strictly a must-have to accomplish a successful flight preparation. Unless those manuals were written in Mandarin, just how difficult is it to read, digest and follow that Tutorial to a successful flight,or for that matter any other parts of the manuals that PMDG has seen fit to provide f.o.c with this aircraft? August 17, 201114 yr Yes the checklists arent requiered for most of us ... the tutorial was great ... really great, I loved it ... its was so good that even I could follow :)But sometimes its hard just to look in 3 or 4 different pdfs for the answers and there are people who don't have time to read those 3000+ pages and want just to fly after their work to relax for an hour at most because of family or other things, but still want to fly a great product like the one from pmdg ...for those its great and for maniacs like me and you the 3000+ are just a dream :) I always found an answer to the questions I had in the manuals, but finding those are time consuming and not every one have that time.Of course the pmdg are for hardcore users, but there are some mortal people who wants to enjoy it.
