August 17, 201114 yr ...Pray tell how come 1000s managed to fly this plane from the date it was released without any kind of 'checklist'? ..... how do you know the number? . you qoute 1000's managed without a checklist. From the original thread and another like (different checklist) .. it appears the many needed/wanted this type of checklist.
August 17, 201114 yr What a fuzz about a (I asume) great shortlist. It is awesome that PMDG offers all the manuals Boeing can offer. But like many otheres I have a hard time finding what I am looking for. You have to jump back and forth in three manuals to get the aircraft to startup from C&D. I ended up making a shortlist for myself, and use the manuals for backup and learning more specifics as I fly. So PMDG, you did a great job with the addon as well as providing all manuals, but don't push away those that like a short list to get going. It does not undemine your excellent work in anyway. I would love to be able to get the short list the poster of this thread created. A day without laughter, is a day without living.
August 17, 201114 yr A compact normal procedures checklist is on page 25 of the QRH. Amplified and supplementary procedures are very easy to find on the FCOM Vol.1.
August 17, 201114 yr A compact normal procedures checklist is on page 25 of the QRH. Amplified and supplementary procedures are very easy to find on the FCOM Vol.1.What you consider easy to find, does not have to be the same for everybody else. It certainly is not for me, but maybe I am the only dombo on this planet. A day without laughter, is a day without living.
August 17, 201114 yr Now it will be on page 25 forever, so now it will be easy for you to find as well.

August 17, 201114 yr There is one thing I don't understand:People were asking for an aircraft addon that comes as close as 100% to the real one. And now they got what they were asking for. And like the real aircraft it is complex and needs a lot of knowledge to fly it properly. But now they are asking for a "one pager", that makes them able to handle it, because they are not willing to spend a certain amount of time to learn. These checklists, done by some forum members, yes, they are well done, but they do not cope with PMDGs 7373NGX.jm2c ------------------------ Regards, Otto Schäfer
August 17, 201114 yr If i understood correctly, problem is that boeing supplied the manuals, Nyxx's checklist is compiled of the boeing manual, and it's not allowed to distribute even pieces of boeing manual for free? If it was just for the fact that QRH includes one already, that could be notified on the topic, without the need to delete the whole thread about it. Just trying to wrap this "conflict".

August 17, 201114 yr I think this was not deleted because it was against copyright or broke a rule ...I think neither pmdg nor avsim admins deleted this thread ... in the last time many threads go 'missing' and neither pmdg nor avsim knows who deleted them ...maybe this happens here too ... August 17, 201114 yr Moderator I think neither pmdg nor avsim admins deleted this thread ... in the last time many threads go 'missing' and neither pmdg nor avsim knows who deleted them ...maybe this happens here too ...Yes, I have notice some very weird behavior in this forum as well lately since the forum software update.I will post something, get a few replies, then 5 minutes later my topic is gone!! I will search thru 5 pages and not find it, but if I search my profile for me own content and posts its there. Then suddenly my missing post will reappear again.I don't know whats going on? One minute my topic is there, then its gone nowhere to be found, then it will be back again.Something else I have noticed about missing posts. If one of my topics goes missing here and I can't find it in chronologial order, I will open the forum using my phone and find my topic, but trying to find it on my desk top computer, even using refresh, it will still be missing. Also, sometimes my missing topics when I find them by searching my content, I will see that other users are viewing them, but yet I can find them in the forum under the regular NGX forum.I have no idea, unless its do the heavy traffic that the NGX forum has lately and the server has a hard time keeping up with updating and listing the topcis in order.Sean Campbell Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 17, 201114 yr Well.. you can start with the Boeing manuals supplied with your PMDG 737NGX download (located in start menu>programs>PMDG Simulations>PMDG737 NGX>. Chapter1, Section 20, Page 1.20.1 (or page 17 of the pdf file) entitled (get ready for this) "Instrument Panels". The instrument panel has numbers that refer to the chapters that contain the information corresponding to the panel element. There is no way to get an overall explanation of what is on a panel without leafing through dozens of chapters. As for the checklist you mention, it is not a checklist but a list of abbreviations. All I am saying is that there are other sources of information available on the web and pointing them out. In my earlier postings I have given very positive comments about the Introduction and tutorial manuals, but as I dug deeper (yes I am now able to plan and fly my own flights), I found it easier to find the information I wanted in other sources, and I wanted to share this information with fellow simmers. I am sorry that somehow in your eyes this makes me a shill for the competition or someone with a hidden agenda. Henri Henri Arsenault
