August 16, 201114 yr Hi guys, i have had zero problems with the aircraft, is there anything i will lose from this update. Livery's , will they be wiped out ? Frame rates will my good frames be lost ? Don't get me wrong, i think all fixes are great and PMDG has done a fine job reacting to various issues. But do i really need this if i am having no problems. Cheers all. Mike Llewellyn
August 16, 201114 yr good point but if u like me if it working for u than theres no need I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
August 16, 201114 yr Well, if you look at the sticky post this is considered a required upgrade. You can ignore that if you want, of course. No changes to frame rates on my system. Liveries will have to be installed and reinstalled. August 16, 201114 yr life is never without risks :) But PMDG says the current hotfix should be considered mandatory. I think they know what they're doing so i'd have a little faith in their advice, wouldn't you? After all, they created this aircraft to begin with. August 16, 201114 yr i dont really understand why people ask if they should install a hotfix. If microsoft pumps out their updates every first thursday of a month (or so) are you also going to send emails to them, asking if you should install this? Most times, your windows is not even broken and runs very well, still, you update it, so why do people ask here? Just update it and thats about it. If you dont install this update, you might maybe later run into trouble, maybe not... But seriously,.. do we have to tell who has to install updates and who does not have to? Tebin Ulrich
August 16, 201114 yr Author I have decided to go ahead with it, reinstalling liveries and doing the dome light fix now. Might as well have the latest i guess. And tebsu , if you install every microsoft update that comes your way without asking or questioning what it is about then good luck to you mate. Cheers. Mike Llewellyn
August 16, 201114 yr ... if you install every microsoft update that comes your way without asking or questioning what it is about then good luck to you mate. And if you don't, then good luck to you too, but do me a favour, can you run some malware checkers and see if you hosting any spambots? Paul Smith.
August 16, 201114 yr Author Don't flame me mate, could not be bothered. I asked a question about a PMDG update for the aircraft not your opinion on the value of Ms updates thanks. Mike Llewellyn
August 16, 201114 yr I need to make this clear to everyone. NONE of the hotfixes are required. Your plane will not shut itself off or blow up mid air if you choose not to install the hotfixes. PMDG like Microsoft, of course, express their professional recommendation being that you install the latest hotfixes. It fixes things you can AND can't see or don't know about - which most people aren't taking into account when deciding not to install the hotfixes. As a matter of opinion: I've installed mine and the plane seems to be acting more "normal". Very minor glitches have been remedied, and the bigger ones such as freezes of course etc. Kind Regards, Dan Wela
August 16, 201114 yr even though it says required? If you play offline, and there aren't any security issues with the unpatched software then it should be at the player's discretion whether to install the update or not. This isn't World of Warcraft where you always need the latest version to play. Often patches can introduce new bugs which can break perfectly working software. e.g. New Nvidia drivers which causes certain games to crash

As PMDG says, the hotfix won't hurt you, but will be included in some future servce update anyway. Ralf Clemens
