Featured Replies

i dont really understand why people ask if they should install a hotfix. If microsoft pumps out their updates every first thursday of a month (or so) are you also going to send emails to them, asking if you should install this? Most times, your windows is not even broken and runs very well, still, you update it, so why do people ask here? Just update it and thats about it. If you dont install this update, you might maybe later run into trouble, maybe not... But seriously,.. do we have to tell who has to install updates and who does not have to?
Because I work as a developer and I know that every bugfix, no matter how small, may break some things, and if bugs slipped through initial release testing (they allways do) there is no reason why some potential bugs couldn't slip the bugfix testing. Also, it's called hotfix for a reason. Hotfix is allways somewhat hastily assembled and mostly only basic tests are done, because hotfix is fixing things that are preventing some people to use the product they payed for. So fixing them is the highest priority. And when I read on forum that people are having problem after installing the hotfix, then I have to ask myself if I really need to take chances to break my 100% functional installation. And after looking at the changelog (that is really, really brief) I really don't see any reason why I should risk breaking my 100% functional installation.

if you actually read that people have problems with a hotfix, then do not install it. its that easy. wait some days and go ahead. and ps: i can see hotfixes in my windows update as well (just to use my old example)

The hot fix has stuffed my installation completely! I now have no control at all. Every other FSX aircraft works as it should. I am not a happy bunny!

Guys seriously LOL.gif . The time people have spent pondering in this thread about hotfixes, could've easily been spent installing it on their system and rolling back to fresh install afterwards. Install the hotfix. If theres no joy, then rollback to "V1.00" by reinstalling the plane. No one is saying you are bound to using the hotfix after you install it once.

Rollbacks are annoying, if you're not suffering from the problem which the hotfix claims to fix then you might as well wait for the SP1.

thats what iam doing waiting for the sp 1

guys, an important reminder here. The hotfix does much more than deal with cockpit freeze issues. Even if you do not see those freezes you should be installing the hotfix. Why? because there are a significant number of updates to other issues in this hotfix too. Lots of tweaks and some bug fixes. It is in many ways a mini-SP1 that updates functionality in many areas of the sim. JR

If I'm about to order the NGX since I just got back home, will the download include this so-called 'Hot-Fix'?Regards,jen noulet Also, Is WinZip required on one's computer system to download this hot-fix and also the NGX?

some bugs I had earlier were fixed with the hotfix ... and now working fineand no I had no panel freeze bug, but some other ... and most of them are resolved ...just because you use 50% of the planes capability and options and having no problems its fine for you, but if you dig deeper in the sim you will appreciate the hotfixes

Hi guys, i have had zero problems with the aircraft, is there anything i will lose from this update. Livery's , will they be wiped out ? Frame rates will my good frames be lost ? Don't get me wrong, i think all fixes are great and PMDG has done a fine job reacting to various issues. But do i really need this if i am having no problems. Cheers all.
Hi! You have nothing to lose by installing BOTH hotfixes. The second one is MANDATORY. Be warned: All previously installed liveries will be DELETED. In my case, CTD after ending flight was FIXED after installing the second hotfix. No dome light problems observed. Blue skies!
