I keep looking for the ENG 1 A and ENG 2 B Hydraulic pumps ON and OFF in your checklist. I must just not be seeing them somehow, I know they have to be there someplace. I find the Electric Hydraulic Pump Switches ON listed in the Overhead Panel area and I find the HYD OFF in the Shutdown Procedure. and I'm sure the 1,400 simulator pilots using this checklist are not flying around without ever turning them on. Ray,From C&D The ENG 1 and ENG 2 outer switchers are ON, just like your SS.The Line "Electric Hydraulic Pump switches ON" is the middle two switches Note the name above them ELEC and HYD under them. If the ENG 1 and ENG 2 outer switchers are the confusion just forget about them. They can stay just as your SS you only need to touch the middle two.

Thanks David for the explanation. I am still trying to grasp to magnitute of some of these settings. I find several of the FCOM procedures diffiicult to understand, especially, what is normal and not-normal when it is in the normal procedures. See what I mean. The item near the bottom of NP.21.15 specifically calls for ENGINE HYD PUMPS switches - ON (Boeing's Caps) It is not a verify, as a lot of items are, this is set to ON. I read later on in the Normal Procedures where it states you must turn the Sys A HYD Pump switches to OFF and Sys B electric HYD PUMP switches to ON with certain conditions of pushback and steering lockout pins not installed. A warning is not to pressurize sys A unwanted tow bar movement can occur. I think. But, your recommendation is just to leave the two HYD PUMP Switches ON all the time. True? Is there a normal case to ever turn any of the Hydraulic Pump switches OFF other than as called out in the Shutdown Procedures? But, the item in the Shutdown Procedure that you have as HYD PUMPS OFF most certainly needs to be clarified as ONLY (2) Electric Hydraulic Pumps switches OFF. HYD Pumps OFF to me would include all hydraulic pumps to OFF. (switches) Thanks for the checklist. Ray

With faults turned on you would have to use the full FCOM check/flow list. Ray my check list is for C&D start and does not include any checks. About the Pushback.This might not be true but it seems the pushback team does the pins and is a "normal" push back. So I dont trouble myself over that, but like I say at the moment I don't have failures turned on.

Ryan doesn't take constructive criticism very well so I am going to just correct mine and keep moving forward. Thanks for all your hard work on these things and for sharing them with us that are struggling. I really think PMDG has been working on this thing so hard for so long they have actually lost touch with the real world. I would be willing to bet less than 5% of their customers are those that look forward to wading thru such voluminous bundles of paper, but yet that is who they seem to be catering to. Ray
