To HotFix or not to HotFix? That is the question...

FPS Hit? Life is full of Risks, everytime you install a new Video Driver your risking a Hit. But it could go either way and your Sim could actually improve. Just%20Kidding.gif
Fair point, will give it a go.

If you got the backups of all your hot fixes you can just uninstall the whole thing then reinstall with the installer then install the hot fixes you want then your liveries last. Or you could just try and install with the new installer that has all the hot fixes already in there and see if it works good for you.

I think the only way is a complete reinstall. Whitch i´m near to do. HF3 "removed" my happy FPS! LOL.gif

No problems here. All I did was uninstall all liveries, apply latest hot fix, reinstall liveries, defrag, fly happily and bug free.

If its not working you can still reinstall the aircraft which will take maybe 5min at most ?
I don,t think that is exactly accurate. Some people have highly customized set ups involving modified configs and profiles involving things like EzDok camera, Trackir etc, etc. From what i have read, people have ended up with all kinds of affects on thier set ups.I am not saying ignore the fixes. What i am saying is read, way up the possible +/- before messing with a system that appears to be running properly because remember, PMDG will get this right in the end, given time. So if you have what seems to be a stable, functional set up, what is wrong with waiting?

I have EZDOK and I have TRACKIR ... and it will take at most 5min to do it ...control panel > software > deinstall > pmdg 737ngx ...start installer, run EZCA Config.exe (you don't even need that, will still work if you are EZDOK user) no need to set up something for trackir ... cfg in fsx are also not affected so whats the big deal ?

So you have weighed up the +/- and come up with what you feel is good for you. That's great . So have i.

Hi Ryan / Tab and others from PMDG,Please, for any hotfix should have the option to restore the previous setting. Another point to be considered, observe if all question posted here are from real customers with emails registered in PMDG. I believe that this avoid wasting time with eventual support for pirated versions. It's unbelievable after years of waiting and thousands of hours of beta testers so obvious problems.I have no problems with mine and did not install any hotfix until now.The best idea is a forum only for PMDG 737NGX customers registered. Think about it.

I've installed each of the hotfixes, doing the livery dance between each (plus downloading any updated liveries) and have experienced no usage problems or FPS drops as a result. It's really been rather smooth. The only major problems I've ever had with the NGX involved OOM's on release night (Vista 32-bit). Since release night, and after a few refinements to my memory usage, I've not had any CTD's, OOM's, or any other showstoppers. I run with "most" of Nick's setup tips in place (I have an ancient computer, so compromise just a bit on AA/multi-sampling), plus I run with a *******-refined config. I don't run with bleeding edge graphics drivers, but instead have some ancient yet very stable drivers (can't tell you version as I'm at work on the Mac, lol). I always fly with Air Hauler and ASE running, plus use GEX-enhanced textures. I've run day-long FSX sessions of multi-leg Air Hauler missions as well as short weeknight trips...no major issues. The problem is the literally millions of combinations possible with PC, FSX, and addon setups that make for tough sledding for any developer of complex applications.

I'm not having any problems and will happily wait until SP1 comes out.

I'm just saying that most of the people don't have - and even if you have some - its no big deal to revert it to the older state ?whats so hard to understand ... sorry for my bad english if you can't understand me ... edit:I also didn't day he should install it, just if he decides to and having problems its really easy to go to 1.00.2885 if he wants to

Just wanted to be clear that english isn't my native language and the last time I had english at school was over 10-15years ago and most people misunderstand me :) But yeah at the moment there aren't many features added in the hotfixes up to date, most of them are bugfixes ...So if you don't have the bugs and everything is stable you can stay at your current version and nothing is lost ...But if you install it and find a problem you can report back to pmdg so that they can fix it ... It wouldn't be nice if they release SP1 and you install it and having all kinds of problems because noone tried the older hotfixes and nobody reported back the issues so that they can fix it ... or maybe the others have no troubles and those 'troubles' only happens to those who haven't tested it yet :)
