Feelthere ERJ 145 v2

Featured Replies

Hey Everybody! I am looking into purchasing a new aircraft for FSX. I have been eyeballing the Wilco/Feelthere ERJ 145 v2 for a while now, but I have been holding off because I have not found a definitive answer to my question: does this model have bump mapping on the exterior model? I am a bit of an eye candy junkie (not enough time to involve myself with simulations as complex as PMDG, unfortunately. Maybe I will have more time after college sad.png ) so this is an important feature of a payware model for me. I have searched extensively on google, youtube, and forums, but I can't seem to find an answer. Can anybody help me? Regards.737Best

HI I don't own the feelthere 145 yet but I did try to look up some info ran into this review by simflight http://www.simflight...here-erj-145v2/ so according to that review and the mcphat livery package it does support bump and specular mapping, what I don't know if the free livery's have it. but it does support it. http://www.feelthere...l?product_id=34

another really nice one is FeelThere Ejets V2 the Embraer 175 and 195. I find these even smoother and more frame rate friendly then the 145..

Ciao!

http://www.avsim.com/pages/1210/feelThere/Ejets.htmlA very comprehensive review is here. The add-on repaints got the Avsim Gold Star award - has bump and specular mapping.

Which is the newer update? I thought the 145 package was done more recently but I could be wrong. If the 175 package is even better on frames, that's impressive. The 145 is easily one of the most frame-friendly planes I have. It's one of the few I can run with the Bloom option on without impact most of the time. The only places I knock it a bit is the feel of it when hand flying isn't super great to me. It may be completely accurate on the ERJ-145 in which case I'll say that plane doesn't have a feel I like, especially when compared with the JS4100 and MD-11 which handle like a dream. And finally with the model itself, the night-time aspect isn't great -- the interior lighting is way too bright and makes flying at night very unfriendly and the external model has the cockpit windows glowing blue at night, also. Overall, though, the 145v2 I have greatly enjoyed! I may look into the 195 package if it's any better, too. Especially if the night lighting is any better.

I really like the 145v2 and it seems to hand fly just fine on my setup. The only quirk I've noticed is that if I set it up to begin at "engines ready to start", it empties the right fuel tank which causes the APU to shut off. It's just a matter of setting the fuel and restarting the APU. Cold and Dark or "engines running" work fine. I also have the latest 175/195 Embraers from FeelThere. The operation of the aircraft and the FMC is much more complicated and I need to spend some more time in the manuals and fly the tutorial a few times. That said, it looks to be a very good aircraft. @Dale: Is the night lighting any better in the 195? Is either package more obviously better or newer designed?

I have both as well the 175/195 package is the newer release. Neither have great night lighting which is something FT refuses to acknowledge or accept. Trying to fly during dusk and dawn transition times is exceptionally challenging because of the way they did the lighting. I actually prefer the ERJ-145V2 IMO it has a better VC. The 175/195 glare shield autopilot panel looks terrible to me and completely ruins an otherwise decent VC.

Thanks for the responses. I always thought the model had to be designed to support bump/specular mapping so either all the textures or none of the textures didn't have bump mapping. That is why the Avsim review confused me. I was thinking about the FeelThere e-jets series instead, but if it is more complex, I think I would have more fun with the erj 145 add-on. I really would like the Legacy but it seems that it hasn't been updated to V2.

Thank you for the feedback, Blaze. That's what I thought that the 145 package they did more recently and it's more refined. It's confusing since the 195 is a newer aircraft so the gauges look newer ;)
