Thanks guys! If there as an ability to give reputation i would have :) You answers to my questions have spawned a few more questions lol. 1. Are there any tutorial videos available online to compliment reading the manual? to be frank i would prefer to avoid the manual for now and just get started, and then just looking up the things im unclear about as i go. I'm still in the process of reading the beast of manual for DCS A-10C Warthog; 400 pages in and im still just as confused on how to operation the weapon systems...im gonna have to reread that thing :( 2. How does the electronic download version work? How many times can i download from this sight? I reformat my computer often, so will i be able to download it again? Thanks again!

1) the plane comes with a tutorial that'll get you started. A quick search should pull some other videos (not necessarily ngx-specific) that'll help as well.2) you're allowed unlimited downloads for a certain period of time (7 days I think). Beyond that you can purchase the extended download service or do like a lot of us and archive all your setup files. I keep all my downloads organized on a separate hard drive for quick installs without having to re-download anything. Any future patches/sp's are free download at any time from the website.

There are mutple videos covering different phases of flight on YouTube. PMDG has to date only posted on youtube their pre-release videos. Nick Collett of FlyAoAMedia.com has also posted his walk around and flight segments of the737NGX. OUTSTANDING BTW. Check out FlyAoAMedia for the upcoming release of the aircraft training. This is a pay for use site and I have utilized them for previous aircraft as the PMDG MD-11. I will be using this site for my continuing education of the 737. As for the download; precisionmanuals.com is the site and after purchasing, an activation email is sent. Copy the license key from the email and from WITHIN FSX after selecting the 737NGX you will be asked to verify internet connectivity and activation proceeds through that server. All relatively easy. Although as reported some have had issues with this. Anyone else please correct my short commings here? The manuals for the a/c are included and there is a tutorial in there as well. Oh yeah, And you will not regret it. They are excellent at answering issues through their Service Ticket program. there is no limit I believe to the downloads, as long as you don't abuse it. Enjoy!

Does a bear **** in the woods? LOL.gif Seriously, $70 USD is steep, but I'll be using this bird for a long time. I can tell you unless something ground breaking happens again, this is the last addon aircraft I'll buy for years.

I'm a little confused. So i can download it as much a i like for the first 7 days? As for the download file, is a legitimate setup.exe file that i can then copy to an external harddrive and save for later, or is it some awkward digital distribution file type? I mess around with my computer a lot and this requires me to reformat my PC often...

Its a straight forward .exe. The activation code is entered into a window that appears when you select the AC in FSX for the first time

Just keep a copy of the installation file and make sure you copy the serial number that gets emailed to you onto a notepad text file and then store these on a back up drive or CD and you'll be fine with digital downloads. As far as reading up on things goes, if you can fly any other FMC-equipped airliner, you'll hardly have to read the manual at all to get the PMDG 737 NG into the air and on its way; when all is said and done the B737 is a fairly simple aircraft to operate. Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

About the need to read thick manuals: the 737NGX comes with one of the best... no, THE best tutorial I've ever seen in all my years of flight simming. Everything is very clear and spot on (sounds logical but believe me, it isn't!) and up to now I only fly the plane by using that tutorial as some sort of checklist (I bought the plane the day is was released). I've had LOTS of fun already without checking out the manuals (which btw says something about the plane because I am a manual nut and LOVE to read thick manuals, but right now flying is more important to me.happy.png ) Come to think of it... I'll will have a look at those manuals this weekend: I was having so much fun with the 737NGX that I completely forgot about those awesome manuals...! cool.png

i probably should not say this but the NGX is underpriced. so much for being worth it. even when the -600/-700 expansion comes out and adds to the total price it will still be underpriced. the ones who remember the PS1 744 sim back in the day will know what i mean. the only problem with the PMDG NGX is that you will not want to fly any other add on airplane anymore once you got a taste of her. she is that good.

The NGX is definitely something every serious simmer should own. The only caveat I would suggest you consider is that of expected performance on your specific computer. If you are satisfied with the 747-400X then I think you will be very pleased. Mark.

The only thing more realistic than the NGX is the NG (the real one)
