Worth it?

Featured Replies

Hi guys :) I'm an avid flight simmer of many varieties (ww1, ww2, fsx, helicopter, etc) and i enjoy the challange of realism. I own pmdg's 747-400x and i love it. Now i'm very interested in purchasing 737NGX (my favoritestest airplane in the whole wide world :() but i have a few questions 1. first and formost, is it worth it? 2. any performance issues or common bugs? 3. does pmdg patch bugs often? 4. is it realistic? 5. are there retail copies available yet? Thank you :)

1. best fsx addon aircraft made up to now2. maybe (might be a couple fps worse, might be better than the 747, depends) ... some, but gamebraking bugs are mostly fixed besides panel freeze or activation issues for very few people3. the first 3 hotfixes came out very fast and fixed the gamebreaking bugs for most of the people if you had some, most didn't have problems at all, more to come to fix activation issues and panel freezes and then sp14. as Di said ... the most realistic airliner addon available for fsx5. no, maybe in 6+ months

The only thing you should be asking yourself at this point is why on earth you waited so long. This plane is awesome. That's my unbiased review.

without a doubt buy this plane, sure their aresome porblems and bugs, but that is to be expected. Wehn you are in the pit, you feel like you are in the real deal. I know the price sounds high, butwilll find it great, my recommendation is get it!!!!!!

It's worth it, absolutely! There's a few bugs here and there, discussed ad nauseum in here, plus a few things the RL pilots have pointed out. Some folks can't get it to activate, while others have performance issues. In the end though, I think the majority are having a blast with it. The bugs and other issues will be worked out eventually, but in the meantime, you're missing out on a great jet! Big Grin.gif

Best purchase I have made in a long time, stop wasting your time thinking about getting it, just get it and start learning the aircraft, it is just beautiful.. Levent Yurdatap AM3 955, 8 gig 1600, video 5750

I wouldn't say that VPA, let me rephrase it. 'But remember 99% Of people that read the manual don't post here' Whistle.gif (Bold words were words I spelled incorrectly )

It's so realistic that I've entered a short denial period with the 747. God it needs a massive remake! :(

1: If you want a very realistic 737 NG and you have forty-ish quid going spare, then yes it is most certainly worth it, although keep in mind that you do need a fairly decent PC in order for it to run okay, most notably where the amount of RAM you have is concerned. 2: I have had some minor issues with it, but nothing that I could not sort out. 3: PMDG normally sort out glitches with a patch if they can, although they rarely need to do that, nevertheless, with a newish release, it's inevitable that something will crop up given the infinite PC configurations there are out there, since they cannot possibly beta test something on every hardware combo there is. You can be assured that if something is broken, they will fix it, since their reputation stands or falls on the quality of their simulations. 4: It is about as realistic as a PC-based simulated aeroplane can be given current technology, certainly a benchmark for realistic systems modeling in FSX. There are other simulated aeroplanes as good as it, but I doubt that you'll find something better. 5: I think you can only buy it online as a download at the moment although I may be wrong on that score.
