  1. Dear Jo, I am sad to learn about Brian's passing. My condolences. You will find a very welcome community here in this hobby. i have learned much from very many bright and talented individuals here, Brian being one of them. At the risk of repeating previous posts, when time permits, you will find a wealth of knowledge to deal with finding a home for Brian's sim and he will leave a legacy. Once again my condolences. Pat Snyder
  2. I have flown over JFK numerous times (RW) over the years from Connecticut to New Jersey and south. The routing is perfect for the pilot and departure as it is accomadating and efficient. I have never seen an aircraft do an intersection takeoff on 31L when 31L/R are in use. And the line gets long during peak periods on 31L in particular. The KD spot you are referring to and it appears on the airport diagram as an inner taxiway and I have seen aircraft in that area waiting while 31L was in use. I can see where access to 04L is also possible, do you recall what Rwy. was used in the taxi instructions? Any one else?? https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/1512/pdf/00610AD.PDF
  3. Oh D*** I can't resist. Thanks guys. Deal maker was the GTN support which I already own and discount pricing for existing T Duke owners. (Thanks Bert) Trying to get my friend to put a RW one in his plane.
  4. Thank you Robert for the reply. Currently have a new copy of X plane loaded. I am getting used to it. Exploring the add ons like aircraft and weather, and scenery. Additionally, specing out a new machine, with the prospect of future proofing. Nice to have options with platforms and hardware vendors. Pat Thank you Robert for the reply. 5. WOW... Robert, having just watched your YT demo, I am wiping up the drool! If I may be so forward, I have been thinking of my next build for my Sim... Excluding Xplane and the center PC what was your expense for Sim Avionics, the bay's, monitors, any FDS components, PC's. Don't need to be precise, ballpark will do. Cause Christmas is coming and I've got lots of husband points accumulated.(kinda like frequent flier miles). I will be green now hearing you on PE. If I am able to go this route, you have to be flattered cause imitation is the sincerest form. Wishing you uninterrupted fun with that setup. BTW, I am guessing it is cheaper than a Top off of a B737-6. Regards, Pat Snyder
  6. Ian, I can offer a comparison since I did use at one time Ultimate Defrag. Had a different issue with the software and a friend recommended O & O defrag from a German developer. Works fantastic, this might be a end run around the problem, but I would run the Check disc feature in Windows to make sure that the hard drive(s) aren't a source of the problem. BTW I love the DF 727 in FS9. http://www.oo-software.com/en/products/oodefrag
  7. The link for PMDG forum for the J-41is here. You might find further info here: http://forum.avsim.net/forum/355-turboprops/ Love the aircraft, hate the loud cockpit sounds.
  8. Currently enjoying FlyTampa's VHHX. Static aircraft only, but there is World of AI which will give route schedules to fly AI and support for My Traffic & one other program. Info is in FlyTampa's README. The IGS 13 approach is unique, comes with all the approach plates. There is a fix for the missing FMC data in PMDG and LEVEL-D aircraft for the old data. This is newest link. WWW.VAPAP.COM You must reinstall it after each Navigraph/ NavData Pro update. i love to hand fly the approach light lead-in lights to the final of 13. Rwy 31 has the old boring ILS. Enjoy.
  9. My Condolences to the Greenblatt family. I was looking forward to another session with him soon. Michael was the consumate teacher, I can still her him in my headset saying "Do you understand?" I am grateful to have known such a fine indiviual. Blue skies Michael.
  10. Steve, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will move on with my purchase. Have to love the community here for all the help going around. Hopefully, my learning curve won't be challenged much. lol But I am looking forward to more realisim with the sim. BTW I noticed Coventry Airport has re-opened. We are constantly losing airports here in the States. Although Naval Airstation Brunswick, Maine has re-opened as a public use airport- KBXM, after closing for a year. No need to reply Steve as I can see this is off topic and you're extremely in demand.
  11. Steve, I would like to say first, that I also appreciate your level of skill relating to this Interface issue of Goflight and PMDG on the NGX problem. I have been following eagerly the discussion here and on the Goflight forum. I am currently "on the fence" about purchasing the MCP-Pro and EFIS. However I am confused about the voltage issue of the USB hub working or not? I have a powered 2.0 Hub. But can obtain whatever works. New models of the MCP Pro I see are A25 firmware, should not be a problem but your Feb. 20 posting in the GF forum mentions lockups with older versions of the firmware. And of course I realize the interface is a Beta version, proceed at my own risk. Thank you in advance for your time.
  12. Belated Thanks Chris. Ahhh, so many liveries and routes, too little time. Also, you are probably responsible for my having to buy the 6/700 PMDG series. LOL
  13. Brian, I want to say the "F" word. No not that one. Fantastic job on the NGX, great complement to the PMDG product line. I do have but abandoned the J41 Voice for that a/c. No problems with it just not enough time for the fun things. Back on topic, While taking the non-firehose route, otherwise known as sipping the manual I decided to take a break and go for a ride. I was learning the panels and for some strange reason I cannot get the crew to stop playing with the knobs and buttons. I even disabled FS2, but they keep pestering me lol. Also I could not close the main panel either by clicking the right side screw or using the windows method. I do enjoy like most all of your customers the interactive environment, and looking forward to SP1.Regards, Pat Snyder
  14. I seem to having trouble actually red-lining the 737 engines on takeoff. I notice my thrust indication both on engine 1 and 2 are around 102.XX whenever I try to go full throttle. However, when I hold the F4 button, I get to 104+ and I start to redline the engine. Its odd, but I can see a twitch in the controls when I go just a bit farther back on the throttles. Windows shows the controls are normal and operating correctly, no twitches whatsoever. Does anyone know what setting I should look for to fix this issue? Has anyone experienced this same issue or is it one of those "FSX bugs" that cannot be fixed? Of course this issue happens with the NGX. Thanks for any suggestions/help. Hi Raul, and Jake, It appears that you are correct in the fact that Saitek throttles used with NGX won't redline. I have tested them as well in other a/c. Jake is right in that FSUIPC (possibly unregistered) will fix this issue. I just have to find the time to RTFM, since I own a copy.
