Official Groundroll Enhancement Thread...

Recommended Posts

Hello guys right been very busy of late with producing sounds for several payware companies for aircraft etc.

Right im going to start this of by saying that when i did this i got extremely wet outside with the rain..

If you guys can guess it you can have it lol

It will fit the NGX it enhanced a certain part which i think is nice and i have panned the left ones to the left and so on...

You got it yet..?

Steve

More to come - Als i have enhanced a touchdown sound with a bit of depth.

Thanks so much Steve, they sound great, now just to install them in the sim. Does the timing match the wipers in the NGX?

Regards,

Ró.

this was taken from my car. But does sound very good in sim.

I have made it so there are not over powering and sound reaslitic..

Enjoy readme included in download

Steve

BACK UP YOUR ORIGINALS !

Thanks Steve

It works great, feels more like being there since we've all heard this sound before. I feel like doing some flights in the rain now.

EDIT: I also tried it on the J41 - after renaming the files it also works there too, fantastic.

A quick question for you Steve. So I can basically convert any sound file to .wav and rename it accordingly and it will stick? Or is there any other rules.

Well renaming a file to wav is one way but it really is best to convert it to wav like this it will contain the bit rate too...

If you have a wav file that is say 32bit PCM and it is say 8000MHZ , If you altered that to say 11156 MHZ the sound will go higher in pitch and sound strange and messed up.

FSX Uses Mono files especially exterior. The sound coning system does not work for stereo files these have to be in mono for the external cones to work. Internally it's kind of hit and miss really. I would recommend keeping them Mono to begin with hope this helps you fella ??

Yeah, that's what I've meant, converting to .wav, not simply renaming. Thanks for reply.

I also found some nice "Cabin crew take your seats" type of sound in stock FSX files. Gonna try and apply them to NGX later

Um, can I request that someone makes an installer? Or puts it all in one zip file and extracts it correctly to the right folder? I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Well to be honest these are my sounds i provided for you guys and i really don't have time at the moment to create an installer which is why i put that up above. I can appreciate why you guys would find it easier but i won't create something that will install over the top of PMDG'S product that could possible cause problems. This would have to be cleared by PMDG first and i feel that saving the original extensions as .BAK and dropping my sounds in is safer if im honest.

What i will do this week coming is create a zip with the whole lot in for you so its just in one download i will do that :)

Steve
