Any new sceneries on the horizon?

Featured Replies

Hi everybodyNow that PANC has been released, all the major sceneries I have been looking forward to for the last couple of months (plus a couple of pleasant surprises such as EGLC) have been released. Are there any major releases (or even minor ones) for FS9 coming up that I may have forgotten?Cheers, SLuggy

FSDT has some more Hawaii scenery to release. I believe Vancouver could be FS9 compatible (which I hope).

Thanks for the link, Leftseat. You just cost me $20 for an airport in Tibet! Money%20Eyes.gifCheers, SLuggy

LatinVFR are about to release Miami.

On a similar topic, several years ago there was an excellent looking FS9 scenery being devloped for Milford Sounds in New Zealand. There were screen shots showing the project was pretty advanced but I haven't heard anything since. Does anyone have any information? It's one of the most challenging places to fly in the world and I can attest to that having operated into there for several years. It would be an awesome addon. Even if it's not totally completed, it would still be a huge enhancement to give simmers a chance to fly in a place of breathtaking beauty

Let us know what you think Sluggy. Some of the colors and textures didn't look all that convincing to me but you don't always know with screenshots. I'm tempted just because of the challenge but.....???

FlightBeam is working on KPHX for both sims. They might release the FSX version first then the FS9 version like they did with KSFO.

Sure thing, might be a while before I get there tho, just landed at the 'new' FSDT KORD. I've been getting sceneries in more out of the way places lately, to tempt me to explore places I haven't been. Just got off the Aerosoft forums where people are 'very disappointed' that they're developing a USSS scenery in the heart of Russia because 'I don't fly there'. Geez, there's more to the world than your own backyard. I'm just as happy with a Russian scenery in the middle of nowhere as with yet another US or Euro megahub. At this stage of the game, we should be thankful we're getting anything as we're definitely the support act these days.Cheers, SLuggy

That will be a long-awaited addon for those of us who use Megascenery and love flying in areas like Arizona. Though KPHX doesn't get as much traffic as it did "back in the day" it is still a major US airport and I've always thought it odd that it hasn't been done before

Thanks Sluggy. I agree with you about "out of the ordinary" addons and in the case of Russia, you have numerous freeware airports that are the equal of most payware ones so it's not too hard to put together an interesting flight with great departure and arrival scenery... Every time I use the freeware UNNT I am blown away with how good it is

And as someone who came of age in the Cold War era, I think it's delightful to fly in Russia and think of how impossible it would once have been to be able to access enough information to have even stock airports in the right locations, let alone detailed addon sceneries!
Newark, Newark Newark ;)
That's the only US scenery I'd buy. No offence intended, I just tend to fly more in Europe and Asia. I have a worrying soft spot for Newark ;-)

Spent some fun time at the bar there waiting for my LOT 767 flight to Warsaw. Some prat decided not to fly just before boarding and they had to find his/her bags. I had another drink. You get the picture :-)
