December 2, 201114 yr Hi,News of December 1st 2011. You can now participate in the MS Flight beta programm. You can sign up, and if you will be accepted, (which is not guaranteed), you will receive MS Flight betas. I hope that MS Flight is gonna be better than XPlane 10. At least the developers from MS Flight are requesting for feedback from flightsimulator fans. This means they are actually gonna make what the community wants. After playing the XPlane 10 demo, I was a little disappointed. The very inconvienient viewing system, really hard to look around in the cockpit normally, like you can in FSX. Very strange flight dynamics. The wind throws you from left to right even when you're in a 747, while the wind speed is actually only around 5 KTS! This happens perhaps in small GA aircraft, but not in a 747 with such low wind speeds...So I hope that Flight is gonna turn out better. It's got great looking graphics. For example those shadows and light inside the cockpit, which isn't possible in FSX. I hope the Flight dynamics are gonna be good also. With a good weather system so PMDG can FINALLY make us a weather radar (I hope...). So if you want to participate in the MS Flight beta programm, sign up here:http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/#news-beta_program_accepting_applicationsBye bye! Arjen Vandervelde

December 2, 201114 yr What do you mean with ground effects? The runway or something, which should be more bumby and unsmoother with a slope in it?Don't really know how to explain it but for me, imo, I don't find it realistic in FSX. That's just me though. December 2, 201114 yr It's ms, there will still be plenty of bugs (sorry, undocumented features) for me to find after release (sorry again, retail beta).:) Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
December 2, 201114 yr Apparently all that matters is your name and age. Hmm...Also, I'm shocked that my username was taken on Windows Live. I would have figured Latin was beyond the average user. Joe Sherrill
December 2, 201114 yr Thanks for heads up, this is great news and count me in, would luv to be part of the beta program, this new offering from microsoft should be great. Rich Sennett
December 2, 201114 yr Author I'm actually only 16 lol, but I said that I was 21 and a student pilot. Guess they'll count me in now... :( If not, would be nice if the people who got counted in share their game footage. (Althoug it's not allowed to do that but who'll find out?) Arjen Vandervelde
December 2, 201114 yr I can only hope you're joking, arjenfsx. Lying about your age and qualifications to get on any programme is dumb. Don't forget that Microsoft have their people everywhere, most likely on avsim and probably reading this forum. :)Posting material in breach of a NDA could cost you a lot of money in court proceedings and a fine. And I do assure you, post it here and they are certain to find out. Shame that you are bound to Windows Live to be able to even have a chance of participating. All part of the great data mining concept, I guess. Still interested to see if you get more than just Hawaii, as what has been shown so far will eat up a large portion of that 10Gb requirement for space. How big is fsx default without addons? It is such a long time ago that I installed it that I have no idea. I am at 100+Gb so far with addons, not including all the GEx and REX stuff that is sitting on the system drive and not on the fsx drive. Andrew Andrew Entwistle

As I am a quite experienced flight sim player, I can provide as much valuable information to them as an adult can do. And no, I did not lie about my qualfication. I'm not a really a pilot student for an airline no, but I do take flying lessons every week at my home airport EHKD. Arjen Vandervelde

Thankfully it'll just last for three more months.Although it could be an interesting experience to beta test for Microsoft, even if I had enough age, I'd still not partipate. I bet it requires lots of compromise and should be stressful at times to deal with eventual crashes and other issues that may show up. Also, I don't know how lond I'd be able to hide the deal from people . Anyway, I wish all the luck for those who have (honestly) applied to the beta program. Once the NDA is lifted, please don't forget to give us some news, screenshots or even a video Matheus Mafra

Bill Gates is coming all the way to Holland to spank me because I have been "naughty"... And about Hawaii. No I don't think the game is only gonna have Hawaii... If it did, no one is gonna buy I think. Hawaii is just a good way to show the beauty of the scenery and graphics that Flight has to offer. I think we're not that far from release anymore, I think about 3 months. So I'm curious how the game is gonna turn out. I'm not gonna buy it (no matter what), until PMDG switches to it. :( Arjen Vandervelde
