Hmmm. Two things in that application don't bode well:This one8. Do not attempt to hack, modify, decompile, reverse engineer, or otherwise tamper with the beta software.is all very well and agreeable, providing either there's an SDK at least up to FSX's SimConnect standards, or some of that is relaxed in later releases. Otherwise there's not a chance of me being involved. And gamertags? Ugh!"Note: A gamertag is a unique name that identifies you on the Games for Windows LIVE and Xbox LIVE service. If you don’t have a gamertag, register for one here"I don't want anything to do with that I'm afraid, and said so -- so my application will no doubt be rejected.RegardsPete

The 'gamertag' is just like your multiplayer logon with gamespy on fsx. They are trying to attempt to make a universal login so if you have an xbox you should be able to use the same details.

Awaiting FSUIPC for XBOX, Pete. laugh.png Just kidding.More seriously, I think they would to good with you being on the beta team. If they don't get this by themselves, at least some odds don't look too promising. Time to improve! However, it's nice to see some progress on the Flight project. Way too much screenshot teasing, not enough info on vital things so far.

Yes, if its a beta, we're not far off from a release. I see Flight coming out sometime in March. Happy times indeed.

I don't use that either, and it wasn't needed for FSX. If I were going to fly on-line i'd use my VATSIM account. Provided it is not needed for MS Flight that is okay -- I entered "none" twice where it asks for the GamerTag. I don't think it allows blanks.RegardsPete

I'd say there's little chance this clause will or can be removed. As you know it's a standard software EULA clause...even for FS-add-ons. And all previous FS Betas, SDKs, and simulators. So it's the status quo. MS has referred to a (Flight) SDK on their job site, so for now it still seems very likely there will be one as before.

What I am most amazed about...is that they did not have Beta handled and done with before one of the most important purchasing seasons on the planet...Christmas and or Hanuka! This seems most odd for timeline. In January, February, or March...dedicated simheads will buy, but not gifters. Weird! Gates needs to get back into the driver's seat, lol.

What does this have to do with FSX? This is the FSX forum after all and we have a dedicated Flight forum, so why not move this subject there. If not the OP should go ahead and post this in the FS9, AS, and PMDG forum as well.
