Thanks. I feel guilty now, hearing some ppl struggle. Maybe the first gen i7's will become a collectors item! For this great fog, set clouds to 0-2000ft, cirrus. Mystical.
Mine (I7 920) went to the collection bin a couple months ago. I fried it in an overclocking scheme. I knew the dangers, my fault, lol LOL.gif

My sympathies. A minutes silence everyone..Mine's still on death row, will get a new PCIe 3 machine to max out settings in 6 mths, after it all settles down.

Pretty good but if they don't sort out TrackIR functionality it wont be buying it.

Whats wrong with trackir? The only quirk I noticed is that I can 'step out' of the cockpit by moving too far. I have to try and do this though so it's not something that happens unless I want it to.

TrackIR works for me also. Use the 3D mouse look option. It's a known bug introduced in the latest beta.

Mike, do you mean it's a bug that trackir is not on by default? If thats true it's good news as I am getting tired of having to turn it on all the time.

Track IR works. Use Mouse look 3D (set a button to press to access it) - x-plane defaults to 2D cockpit - not sure if that can be changed by the user. You need to tick TrackIR in the far left tab under Joystick assignments. For those having slow rendering with newer Intel chips that have on-board graphics - make sure the on-board graphics are turned off in your bios and that you really are using the graphic card to render - not the chip then sending it through the graphic card.

Well for me Trackir is not functioning any where as good as in fax or fs9. My cockpit is zoomed up so close its like im sitting in a space between the pilot seat and front panel of about 1 foot in size as though the seat is pushed right up against the yoke colum. If I move my head back 6 inches, i'm now staring at the back of my pilot seat. Zoom buttons Minus and Plus hardly make an impressiom on the the zoom. Trackir zooms me right outside the cockpit and im fighting like mad to gain control.Dont know why but maybe its my setup.

What is your lateral field of view set up for? Between the lateral field of view under render options, the zoom and tir I can get it fine.I have mine set to 110 and then zoom in to what I need.

My field of view is set to 75 - same as I had in X-plane 9 - kinda like it.

Yes but I am not sure in track ir that it's always giving you the correct field of view. for instance I have it at 110 and most of the time I dont zoom in. It's not 110 degrees though, its somewhat less. So he could try setting it quite wide and then zooming to the right fov while wearing the TIR. It works for me anyway.

Ok, i'll look at that and if that fixes it, then x-plane is definately next purchase. Thank for info

I loaded the demo last night and I was pleasantly surprised with the very smooth and stutter free performance on my 3yr old Q9650.I found the user interface to be user friendly but I'm going through some "Growing Pains" tweaking my TM Hotas to behave as it should. The short time I've spent with the demo certainly doesn't qualify for a full review but I have to say I had a Blast flying around and enjoyed myself. In short,I 'm very interested in the full product as I think there's alot to like in X-Plane 10

Hi guys..X-plane 10 looks really stunning, and I'm always interested in trying out new things in the FS world - HOWEVER (and this is a big however in my world), I find the lack of high-end aircrafts developed for Xplane rather disappointing.. By high-end I mean systems wise (FMS, electrical, AP and such).. As far as I know only the upcoming 733 from IXEG can even aspire to reach the systems depth of that of some FSX add-ons...?Do you guys see any chance of add-ons in the same depth as e.g. 737NGX for FSX coming for Xplane in the future?Mas

Oh Mas,Sorry to say, you are very mistaken. The IXEG 737 will more than likely be the standard for study level payware. And that's just the start.
