Something I do a lot, is use a program called Destination Finder. Ver 1.1 is here at Avsim and 2.0 is at Flightsim.com, either works just fine. You can choose a start airport and generate a list of nearby airports using a set distance. I usually choose 150 to 250 miles depending on the aircraft. Im not good for more than an hour either, so short flights let me get my fix in.

Check out VTBS-VDSR. Arrival into Siem Reap, Cambodia over the giant lake of Tonle Sap isn't as interesting as in real life, but Martin Strong's freeware Siem Reap airport scenery makes up for it. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, Microsoft didn't model any of the ruins at Angkor Archaeological Park North of the field. You won't miss anything in a B737. Also, Bangkok Airways flys A319s and A320s on the route (cruising briefly at FL250), so a B737 is definitely not unrealistic.

This was my biggest problem, trying to find airports that fit my plane and time duration on the pc. Now I use Ideal flight by codelegend, a little utility that automates so many things for me. Specifically, I can set the time duration, and based on the plane I want to fly, it creates automatic flight plans and it even takes me to my departure airport. It has its own weather engine, but also the option to score me on my flying. This utility has so many features that it's impossible to list them all. And yet, it's always reduced to one click so that loading a flight is truly a wonderful, new experience. With this utility, I am flying to airports all over the world and within my time limits. Given my busy schedule, with one click, I get intothe sim, knowing that everything else has been done for me.Until you've tried it, you wont know what you're missing. The author is great at taking feedback or suggestions and improving it almost weekly.I can't think of a single add on that has helped me to do more flying than this utility.tc

Seems I'm not alone in being a short-haul simmer! Keep them coming guys, some great suggestions.

Shortest hops (literally) I do are roughly 80nm from KORD (Chicago) to KMKE (Milwaukee). I don't get to full altitude though, maybe up to FL200 for ten minutes before it's time to descend again! These were nice for very short flying availability and getting acclimated to the aircraft. When something went wrong halfway through the flight or even towards the end, it wasn't as hurtful as when you spent 6 hrs flying only to cheese the approach or something. :(

Sincerely,

Chase

I usually end up with not having enough time for flights much longer than 1hr. I've got more recommendations - but the list is getting too long.

Skopje - SofiaRome - Split (Croatia)Rome - DubrovnikVerona - VeniceVerona - MilanBourgas - VarnaSofia - Gorna OryahovitsaDusseldorf - MunichA lot more flights can be though up of. I enjoy short flights as well. You can even do more flights per day this way.

For a short flight I usually use Sao Paulo Congonhas SBSP - Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont SBRJ.That is under an hour, challenging and different every day,and it can be a 737 flight in real life as well. You can also do the return.Good scenery is available, I don't know if it is AESed though.I have flown that so much it is rather embarassing.

LEMD - LEBL It is the route that is constantly being operated by jets such as B737 or A320. Till recently it was the world's busiest air route :DAlso some flights within Canary Islands, really interesting ones ! :)

An interesting an challenging flight would be EKVG-EGLC or viceversa. Can be done on a B736 or Airbus 319 provided they are properly loaded and configured. In my opinion, EKVG is the most challenging of the 2 airports, but having said that EGLC is not far behind because of the steep ILS gradient.Vagar Airport can be found here: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=76167Faroes Mesh, textures & autogen: http://www.flightsim.no/file/FS2004/Scenery/Europa/ - The filename is faroesver3.zip - If you use UT Europe you need to read the Readme.pdf file inside the pack.UK2000 London City latest scenery is superb and works well with AES.Give it a go.Regards
