December 14, 201114 yr I was looking at FSC but this thread may have swayed my opinion a lot due to the fact that it can be done over a wireless network, as I have read in an earlier post. The question is, does this mean if I have my main PC wirelessly connected to my router (because of distance) and a laptop also wirelessy connected, will this still work? Thanks,Richie Richie Lumsden

Is your main PC already wirelessly connected? Rick Hobbs
December 14, 201114 yr EFB uses a port that is entered on both the data provider and display units. Not sure if this means u can use wiress or not. Brad Rich

Both computers belong to my Homegroup which makes it easier to share the required FSX folders . Edmundo Azevedo
December 14, 201114 yr The port number is just a portal between clients. It will not care if it is wireless or wired. Ron Musick, PP-ASEL-IA AOPA # 00642403

December 20, 201114 yr I too am trying out the trial version of EFB. (Forget traffic to display from vatsim, but no matter what I do I cannot get it to work. I cannot see any vatsim traffic in efb. Could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?I'm running the efb client on a separate Windows tablet connected to my wireless network, with the data provider running on my fsx computer. I connect to vatsim using FSInn, and I see the traffic in its radar application, as well as in FSX (I have turned off AI traffic).I connect to the vatsim network through efb and get a list of active controllers. The controllers of various types are correctly displayed on the map, and the frequency suggestions it provides seem to be correct.I noticed that there is a greyed out often on the different map views that says "trfc", but I am never able to press it, it seems to be disabled always. This is running the latest SP5 version of EFB.I'm sorry to hijack this thread, but it felt like the correct place to put it. December 20, 201114 yr Author There is a zip file on efbs website called VatSim.files. you will need to read the manual, download those files and plug the directory for them in where they belong. The manual has step by step instructions on which goes where, as I can't off the top of my head remember right now. December 21, 201114 yr Thanks, but I have already done that. Otherwise it wouldn't allow me to turn on vatsim support. Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen
December 21, 201114 yr I just found a "traffic" tab under the "charts" tab. The "show online traffic" option was not ticked. I have ticked this, and now it works :) Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen
December 21, 201114 yr Is FS Commander and EFB/aivlasoft the same thing???I too am running EFB besides FSC 9. I come to the same conclusion. Many fuinctions are alike, However i do like the better graphical presentation of EFB.I am running FSC/AS2012 and EFB on a second (networked) computer. |sofar i have found the routeplanning of FSC easier to use. But i should mention i am still learning and reading so this might be a lack of knowledge on EFB yet. Importing the fsc flightplan into EFB works fine however. One thing i am struggling with (but i know should work) is the moving map. Although i do have connection between dataprovider on fsx machine and datadisplay my plane does not show up and the maps do not move with the movement of my plane. When i have fixed this i think i will buy the licence however. The remark on this thread of buying a touchscreen and operating efb through this touchscreen sounds interesting.(pity this can't be done with an ipad or am i missing something that enables this?) December 21, 201114 yr Author Another thing to the potential EFB users. If you are going to buy this, you will need to update its Navigraph info. And hat in turn, will kinda force you to keep up to date on your favorite airports AFCAD updates. I find myself now struggling to pedantic how to update KJAX so I can fly there now. RWY # changes make the EFB throw a warning, and you will not be able to plan any arrivals because it noticed a mismatch between of, and FSX info. William Sequeira
December 21, 201114 yr i bought it and its amazingi am running the efb on a third screen and it is working very well Flys Cessna 172P, C206 Turbo G1000, DA-40XLS G1000, M20J, Archer III/11, Piper Cub, Beech Travelair, C177Check out my Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/md11pilot11/videosLiam
December 21, 201114 yr I have a quick question, if you don't mind.I'm comparing the NDB approach to RW 12 ENRY in EFB with what I get from the NaviGraph charts. The approach and missed approach paths are depicted correctly in EFB, but the reference for some of the fixes seems incorrect. In the regular chart a specified holding points after a missed approach is BUPUS, which is defined as D37.8 R145 DRA. This is something I can work with because the first leg of the holding pattern is along this radial. In EFB, however, BUPUS is defined as D11 R180 RYG. These is not as helpful since this radial does not fit with any of the phases of the holding pattern. Is there anything I can do about this, apart from using the regular chart?
