December 22, 201114 yr A question for owners: Is the G300 true to life? Navigation-wise as well? I'm not going to ask for RXP integration, I haven't seen a single skycatcher panel with a 430/530, but do you have to use the FS flight planner to make a flight plan or add/modify waypoints?
December 22, 201114 yr Its already priced at the level of a Carenado addon!Yes, but it's Christmas. :( Officially retired
December 22, 201114 yr Manual page 20, use the buttons on the flight stick to manipulate several PFD functions. It doesn't say to use buttons on the flight stick, it says use the PFD's controller joystick, which is exactly what I was trying to do. Actually I figured out what I was doing "wrong." If you move the pointer over the right arrow next to the PFD's joystick, the mouse pointer changes to a hand pointer, but clicking or moving the mouse wheel does nothing (even though the cursor has changed and you get a pop-up tool-tip telling you to push). You have to move the mouse pointer further away from the joystick until you see a little + sign in the middle of the hand, then you can click or spin the mouse wheel and it works.

You will find it is much easier to manipulate then try to cram it all in the area of the knob on the panel.A question for owners: Is the G300 true to life? Navigation-wise as well? As our site states... The all-new Garmin G300 avionics package was specifically designed with the Cessna Skycatcher in mind. Dual Garmin G300 displays provide primary flight, engine and moving map information on the primary and multi-function displays. Other standard equipment includes a Garmin SL40 Com radio, Garmin GTX327 Mode C transponder, VFR GPS and a 121.5/233 MHz ELT. Optional autopilot included. The aircraft is a LSA VFR Flyer. It is a lot of fun to fly and reminds me of the old 152 I used to fly around the wine country in California, but with glass. December 24, 201114 yr I bought it tonight and have already done a few short flights on it... I must say I really like it so far!!!I have a slow quadcore with 6gb of ram and an old 9600GT and flying around Latin-VFR Miami (using AS2012), and with most sliders to the mid-right I was able to stay in the mid to high 20's of FPS.Nice job Flight One.Happy Holidays everyone!Enrique Enrique Vaamonde

December 31, 201114 yr Purchased this one last night. I couldn't resist because most of my real world flying has been in small two seaters similar to this but without the glass cockpit. Overall it's very good. The interior and exterior are very nicely modeled, and the view through the large windows is excellent. The glass cockpit is also very nicely modeled but does cost you some FPS, though not as bad as some. I recovered quite a few of those frames by setting the moving map to "North Up". The Flight 1 documentation is also great! The only let down for me in this package is the flight dynamics. They seem pretty average for MSFS, which means not very impressive. Even though it probably gets the numbers correct (I haven't checked) the sense that you're flying a heavy object through a dynamic ocean of air is lacking IMO. Very few aircraft in FSX capture that feeling well.On another note, it's amazing to me that all this avionics technology has worked it's way down into the real Cessna 162. Information presentation, and situational awareness are fantastic.Edit: I have only discovered one annoying bug so far...if you hide the flight stick, the mouse will no longer work with any of the avionics.
