Just completed the Avsim review of the Centurion 210T

As part of the Avsim review, I made this comment. . . .One of the items that seemed a little strange is all the paint dings in the otherwise clean blue/grey panel. My first impression was that someone had locked a two year old in the plane with a big set of car keys and he beat on the panel until he fell asleep. There just seems to be way too many dings and a little too severe for my taste. I’m surprised that whoever made all those dings didn’t break the glass face on the backup instruments. Fortunately, this has no effect whatsoever on the flying characteristics of the plane and I know how to fix it. Search the Avsim Library for a replacement texture file that cleans up the paint dings. Give the library a day or so to get it posted then search for "Carenado Centurion T210 Replacement Cockpit Panel textures" in the FSX repaints section if interested. it drove me nuts. The actual review may not be published for a couple of weeks due to the Christmas holidays and all the bowl games and everyone in the chain being an unpaid volunteer.Ray

RayThanks. Look much better than the originals.Russ

I guess it's okay, but I'm partial towards scratches, dings, dents, and cracks.

It is certainly not required. To each his own. That is the whole idea of even doing something like this. I like a ittle dirt and a somewhat used or worn look myself, but I like for it to be somewhat realistic. The dings in the panel look totally unrealistic to me. If they were based on a real 210 panel, I would expect that plane to be in shambles.Ray

Good to hear you are enjoying the 210. I believe it has the best GA textures of all available that I have seen. And those full sized screenshots by Soya are really breathtaking - looks like the real thing - inside and out. Ray

Ray ,Enjoyed reading your review , especially as a repaint that I made featured in several screenshots ( PH-VDC ) . I realise that you didn't make the screenshots yourself but was a bit disappointed that when crediting the different screenshots etc that no mention was made that it wasn't a " Carenado " paint , or that it is available here on AVSIM . It's not that I am looking for ( repaint ) work but it was the first one I made for the " new " model and more will follow .John Glanville

John,I was not aware that any of your repaints were used by Soya. I had not seen any of the non-Carenado repaints before. I rushed that one to completion just prior to Christmas and didn't do my normal due diligence. In was in all in vain as it got caught up in the holiday backlog. Everyone in the chain is a volunteer.I can post a comment in the review feedback area to call attention to your repaints and give you the proper credit if you like.Ray

The avsim library. Search for Ray Marshall. The modified texture files will be the first one you see. File name is "carenado_t210_panel_dings_fix.zip"Ray
