I'm sorry to say I was deeply right

Are you still playing this game? You guys have been banging on about "They said 'world', so the initial release can't possibly be Hawaii only!" And guess what? The initial release is Hawaii only. Now you're hitching your wagon to vague phrases like "authentic piloting procedures", which could just as easily describe an arcade flyer like Pilot Wings as a high fidelity flight simulator. What you desperately want them to mean isn't necessarily what they actually mean. That's the beauty of ad copy, it's deliberately vague to fool the consumer into thinking that they're promising more than they really are.Sorry, guys, but Flight is a wash. You're going to have to look elsewhere if you want a real simulator.
but certainly not XPlane :(

I fail to see why you would find this funny enough to roll on the floor. Or maybe you've been known to have bouts of epilepsy?
I don't see anything in those editorials indicating that Flight is a hardcore flight simulator. In fact the second article quotes Howard as explicitly saying that Flight "is wrapped in a more game-like experience" and that "There are some nods to hardcore fans as well. The icons for airports are correct in terms of actual aviation icons." Ooh...Third link confirms that "Flight also brings the 'game' aspect of the franchise to the forefront."Yes, I know, Microsoft is promising "authentic piloting procedures", but that's not promising anything specific. As I said, it's deliberately vague ad lingo to fool you into thinking that they're offering more than they really are. Remember, this is the same development team that appeared to promise you the world... and gave you Hawaii.

So go play XP10. Most of us will head back to FSX or look forward to Prepar3d.

Hi,I have to agree, I believe Prepar3D has a better shot of becoming the flight sim of the future than XP10. With numerous 3rd. party software already working with P3D and some in need of only minor adjustments, I think the jump will be toward P3D. I certainly hope it is, because I do not want to fly in a plausible world that does not represent the real world.

I heard that Prepar3D price is around 500$..... that is a show stopper at least for me.

P3D is an expensive sugar pill, bu don't say It out loud, keep it hushed.

Hi,I opted for the $10.00 a month option, makes it easier to swallow than $500.00.

Hi,And that's a bad thing?...
P3D only appears to be FSX "fixed".

And how long do you expect to keep paying that? Three months and you could have bought FSX Gold. Eight months and you could have bought X-Plane 10. $10 a month is going add up pretty quick.

Such an high price will only increase the torrent counterpart I guess....

The question is now: will flight + add-ons be better and as affordable as FSX + the tons of add-ons most of us bought. Better (and all the criteria we may pu in this): we don't know enough yet, cheaper or not: same. But receiving a free B737 at first connextion ? Pretty funny when we have a look at the PMDG NGX. I hope they made progress compared with the default FSX one .....What I know is that my FSX still got some years to live as all the sliders are not pushed to the right.
Why in the world would you still be asking for or talking about Airliners in Flight at this point? :( What are you expecting, a 737 in Flight to fly around in circles? Airlines are designed to fly long distances not around island. Heck Flight might not have all the Hawaiian islands. If it did then a 737 would be o.k. but they can add that by default. I don't need a PMDG 737 series for one small geographical location. That makes about as much since as an F/A-18 in 'Aerofly FS' which it has and which is pretty silly to say the least. At this point only low and slow GA planes are the only required aircraft for such a limited 'game' as Flight. I actually don't see why any third party developer would bother with Flight when there's plateforms like FSX, FS9, X-Plane, and Prepare3D on people's hard drives...
Bit of drag really. End of an era.
Only if copies of FS9, FSX, and Prepare3D suddenly disappear off the planet. Hey it's 2012 so anythings possible. :(

Yeah and flyawaysimulations article states that even if they wanted there is no dev kit or anything for third party developers and they are not supported at all.

It has been confirmed by AVSIM staff that while Microsoft has been courting third-party developers, the percentage of sales Microsoft is asking for has been a deal breaker for most of them.
