February 26, 200422 yr After having finished thoroughly reading the PDF manual for it, I'm downloading it now! WOOT! :-yellow1Cheers,Jim
February 26, 200422 yr I must admit I didnt read the manual first but it is late here and I just HAD to fly it once before I go to bed (Took off from ISP/KISP and landed back at the same airport) Got all the warning horns when taxing. I'll read the manual fully tomorrow before I take the plane on a real flight. Plane is very good on the framerates, the deluxe plane gets over 30 fps on my machine. Don't really like the paint the deluxe one has though, but I could switch it with one of the others I guess or just wait for the repaint to start coming out. It's a beauty of a plane! It is my new favorite biz jet! (the Beechjet 400A being a close 2nd) GREAT work Eaglesoft!!!!
February 26, 200422 yr I managed to order it shortly after the link went hot. My first Eaglesoft plane, as I was excited about a Citation X in MSFS. I've gone through the manual and completed one flight, however, there's a couple of questions I'll ask tomorrow when everyone is awake. Overall, I really like the aircraft so far, but the AP is very different. It's like the PSS Dash 8 autopilot, and I have very little experience with it. The whole plane is a lot different than anything I've flown in MSFS.Eaglesoft has really done an excellent job on this bird, and I recommend everyone check it out!Chris - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
February 26, 200422 yr Hi George,I guess you got it, so maybe you can answer this:Is the licence you buy 'welded to the computer' ?I mean, if I get a new box and move my FS stuff, will that mean that I would have lost that product ?(key only matches that original machine)Cheers,Siggy Siggy Schwarz
February 26, 200422 yr Siggy,No, the key file will install the package on another computer. I've got all of the Eaglesoft planes and many Flight1 add-ons(they use Flight 1 wrapper). Never a problem.
February 26, 200422 yr George,How does the realism of this package compare to the NG? Is it close, or is it more of a 'casual' plane?
February 26, 200422 yr Hi Fred,There are a number of realistic aspects and features to this plane. But because the FMC does not have active navigation capabilities I would have to rate it a notch or two down from the NG in reagrds to your question. Keep in mind it is also not as expensive as the NG. If you want an excellent BizJet in your stable you wouldn't be disappointed in this plane, imho. It's a real beauty and I think they did a superb job on it. The FMC has some functionality, but don't exepect a 100 percent full blown one like the NG has. I think the realism is right up there in other areas of operation though, Engine Start, Pressurization, EICAS, PFD and MFD are really well done here!, ect. But keep in mind I'm not a real pilot. So maybe a real Cit X pilot would be better off answering... hehe. I haven't flown it a heck of lot yet but so far I think it's one excellent BizJet to have. :)Regards,Jim
February 26, 200422 yr Author First, the FMC/CDU is not 100% on the NG product. It represents nominally 70% or the real life funtionality. The FMS programmed within the PIC767 product included about 85-90% of the real life functions. With both the real NG and 767 FM systems being very very similar, the PIC product is still unsurpassed and may remain that way for awhile. Even with the released information to date concerning the PMDG NG next release and updates, it appears that PIC MAY remain ahead of the pack on this - 'nuff said. Now, with this CitX project. I think I will pass on this product because even at this price, the nav facilities should have been included. The lack of a map display on the ND and VNAV functions make the decision for me.For those who do purchase, enjoy it to the fullest. Who knows, maybe it will go on sale in 6 months or so. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
February 26, 200422 yr Hi Mike,Thanks for giving the correct FMC funtionality percentiles on those planes. I didn't really know and I guess I just called it 100% because the NG is the most realistic I've ever used. I suppose one could say the only 100% realistic one is the real thing!Your points about the no VNAV and Map(it does display your currently selected waypoints though) on the Navigation Display are well taken. This isn't the cheapest payware plane around, nor the most expensive. Still, no deal breakers for me and I will of course being enjoying the Cit X. Everyone will have to make thier own decision as to what they expect for $27.95 and and I'm glad you pointed out these features that aren't included for people that may be considering buying the plane. I don't represent ES in any way. I just a proud customer as my sig above says! :)Cheers,Jim
