February 19, 201214 yr Author aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa IB delayed - let's all run in circles yelling and screaming!!!!!!....IB not delayed - now we can sit and be calm, thank god and all of the world that a chip line is not delayed...LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :LMAO: :LMAO: :LMAO:
February 25, 201214 yr When it comes to the hardware side, we were shown that the processor excels in performance. We saw the samples of Core i7-3770K going from 3.5 GHz to a massive 7.06 GHz clock. By raising voltage to 1.889 Volts, using 63x multiplier and 112.11 MHz and using dry ice - the 22nm beast passed 7000 MHz.We expect that this processor is going to raise a lot of interest if it stays within the $350 range of its predecessor. sourceI know none of us are too interested in this nonsense, but at least we can glean that IB can survive similar voltages as current 32nm chips! The really good news is that this isn't one of those pointless tests where they disable HT and all but one core. February 27, 201214 yr This thread remind me of something like:aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa IB delayed - let's all run in circles yelling and screaming!!!!!!....IB not delayed - now we can sit and be calm, thank god and all of the world that a chip line is not delayed... :LMAO: :LMAO:Seriously guys, when someone not having anything to do with computer would read, would think we are globally crazy and really really  :crazy:AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH, OH MY GOD!!!! February 28, 201214 yr (cause who would buy SB on a laptop once IB is out unless they are hevily reduced. Think we need better competition here)EditJust saw that the source is the same Digitimes article, but in the source article they only speak about notebooks, so lets hope that's the caseYou haven't met my mom. Or any other person that typically buys a laptop. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

February 28, 201214 yr Leave it up to the press to omit key elements of the interview to grab headlines. Here's a more full quote: In his first interview to discuss Intel’s business in China, Mr Maloney told the Financial Times that the start of sales of machines equipped with Ivy Bridge – the 22nm processor set to succeed Sandy Bridge in notebooks this year – had been pushed back from April. “I think maybe it’s June now,” he said. http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/2/c3c3c2b6-602f-11e1-8de4-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1nXzncJ00You'll notice the inclusion of the word "notebooks" in that statement. OEMs are concerned with notebook chips, and that is the target audience of this statement. To me this indicates desktop chips are likely to still be on track.
February 28, 201214 yr Intel offers clarification on 'Ivy Bridge' chip delay Chip giant says that reports of an eight-week delay are "inaccurate." It's actually just a "few weeks."Intel today spelled out in more exacting detail just what the Ivy Bridge chip delay means in the wake of comments published Sunday from an Intel executive."Reports of an eight-week delay to the Ivy Bridge launch are inaccurate and our schedule has only been impacted by a few weeks," spokesman Jon Carvill told CNET today. So, for instance, if a desktop Ivy Bridge product was slated for an April launch, that would be pushed to May. And a mobile product scheduled for May, would launch in June. Intel always staggers production schedules. For example, Intel's most power-efficient ULV (ultra-low-voltage) parts typically ship later than other (e.g., desktop quad-core) parts. On Sunday, Sean Maloney, executive vice-president of Intel and chairman of Intel China, told the Financial Times that Ivy Bridge chips would be delayed until June.Carvill added that once the Ivy Bridge chips launch, Intel will bring up production faster than the current Sandy Bridge chip.Read more: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-57386333-64/intel-offers-clarification-on-ivy-bridge-chip-delay/#ixzz1nhsQnPTz Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 28, 201214 yr Yay, IB delayed, even for few weeks! I can't stand the slowness of this system! I neeeeeeeeeed IB now! :LMAO:
February 29, 201214 yr Well my well-formed plan to wait for IB to show up and mature for a few months didn't survive contact with the enemy...my trusty auxiliary PC that runs AS2012, Radar Contact/SB4, Aivla EFB etc started randomly shutting down on me. I decided to rotate my i7-975 primary FS rig into its place where I can also use it for CoD/BF3 etc, and build a new IB-ready FSX PC now. Clocking the 2600k was the easiest ever...in a few hours I got it stable at 5.0 GHz on my external water cooling tower, but the 1.5v required to hold it isn't in my comfort zone even with the nifty intel performance tuning insurance, so 4.8 at 1.39v it is. When IB finally does show up, if it proves to be a big leap in speed, I should be able to drop one into the new ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Gen 3 motherboard and go with it. Until then, 4.8 on a SB seems snappy enough. I don't like 1.5 v either, so 4.8 it is for me too.Kind regards,
