February 24, 201214 yr Ted, I agree with you.But when people start saying things like "if the UI isn't fixed/enhanced/changed/adjusted/looks better, then I'm not getting it..." it's a little counter productive, and a tad far fetched in itself, don't you think?Sure, I don't mind if Austin decides to add nice graphics, an easier way to find airports, etc...but I would like to see the core of the UI maintained. If he doesn't add these things, then it really doesn't matter to me, and obviously to several others who are accustomed to it.Yourself included. You don't really agree .. how can you talk about "room for improvement" without using the words fixed/enhanced/changed/adjusted/looks better
February 24, 201214 yr Commercial Member Tierborn, you're not understanding what I said. People have said, for example, "If the UI isn't fixed, then I'm not getting X Plane". THAT just doesn't make sense to me. Basing the purchase of a whole sim or game on a UI? Come on. I would have missed out on a lot of hours in a lot of games if I had that type of mentality. If they buy it, and then suggest some improvements, but accept it in it's current form regardless, well, then we can have a discussion. It's that absolute ideal of "It's crap!! If they don't change it, I ain't getting it!" that is rather silly and pointless. The UI, in it's current form, is what it is. Simply emailing Austin or posting in the forums and saying "change it, it sucks and I'm not getting x plane because of this!" is futile.Like I said earlier, I have no problems with it. Neither do most other people. Obviously there are some people who do. I'm all for change, but as long as it's core is maintained.
February 25, 201214 yr People have said, for example, "If the UI isn't fixed, then I'm not getting X Plane"I believe I have seen some attempts to frame the debate in that way and then refute that, But I have no memory of seeing such a statement. Could you link it, or provide a quote please?change it, it sucks and I'm not getting x plane because of this!"Also, unfortunately, the final sentences are again nothing that has actually been said, that I recall (and certainly not in that tone, or spirit) Forgive me if I am incorrect, but could you link any such statement? Otherwise this appears to be a form of straw man.I'm all for change, but as long as it's core is maintainedWas there some discussion of changing the programs core? So far as know, the discussion at this point was about ways to improve the experience of new users. Edited February 25, 201214 yr by HiFlyer' We are all connected..... February 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member Is a discussion of improvements really this controversial? No. But it appears to be for some people. (4 pages worth of posts about a UI. Still shaking my head at that) :(

February 25, 201214 yr No. But it appears to be for some people. (4 pages worth of posts about a UI. Still shaking my head at that) :(Maybe instead of shaking ones head one should take notice. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

February 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member Maybe instead of shaking ones head one should take notice.GeofThose that matter are not taking notice because they don't come here. Whatever the UI is, I'm willing to accept it as it will be done by the maker of the sim. Just like I accept the UI of BC2, FSX, FS9, Eurofighter 2000, Flanker 2.5, etc...ad nauseam.I just don't see the point of people saying they refuse to buy x plane because of a UI. That, to me, is just mind boggling.Maybe I'm just too flexible when it comes to these things. Maybe I'm too willing to accept. And so we see that was is being responded to are things that have never been said? I am afraid I must shake my head at that. ummm, what??
February 25, 201214 yr I am also still looking for the post that says people are refusing to buy xplane because of the ui.I do see legitmate requests for improvements, and it seems a lot of people feel that way. It has nothing to do with fsx by the way. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

I have a habit of typing, thinking, erasing, thinking some more and then cleaning it all up. February 25, 201214 yr Commercial Member he made those claims up .. or he is pulling them from posts made months ago.You have a very annoying habit of speaking for other people. Like I said, I can't be bothered rummaging through forum posts to find something that will just get lost in the forums again and will have about as much relevance as what I had for breakfast last Monday.Honestly, is it that much of a big deal?
February 25, 201214 yr Hi all ! :( 5 pages about a "New UI Front for X-Plane 10", and still no detailed functional requirement ? I like the current UI Front, so what would you like to change ?Happy flying. Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -
February 25, 201214 yr At least it gets more attention than a simple hardwad question. Everything turns into the same XP versus FSX discussion.
February 25, 201214 yr @MdMaxHm, there were actually some suggestions made earlier. Maybe not as detailed as you might have expected but I'll try to come up with something more detailed today. Edited February 25, 201214 yr by tom79 Regards, Tom
