February 27, 201214 yr Author thanks so much! i will check that one with the man and we'll see what's going on... thanks again for the great help! Daniel Daniel choen
February 27, 201214 yr I agree with Dazz on the CPU, RAM and graphics. Cooling and motherboard I would provide you with something that I have used and would recommend to others. Cooling, you could also try out Noctua NH14D. There was a study done between this and the Corsair H80 (liquid cooler), and this air cooler actually came out on top! Motherboard I have heard, read, seen and used gigabyte ones since I had set my mind to perform OC on my system. For an i5, go for Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 Now I'm not making any comparisons to what dazz was suggesting, because I haven't researched or have experiences with his listed components. I just wanted to give you some more options. And the bottomline is, you must overclock your system regardless of how good it is, I'm sure most people here if not all would agree. Hey, thanks Brendan, i am just a little bit scare from doing the purchase for 2 reasons.1. it's not my money, my dad is paying for it.2. if i will stop simming in 1 year or something, i will stuck with a very expensive PC with no reason.how many of you been simming for a long time and feels that it never get's boring?though, i am not enjoying currently with my computer, the specs are terrible, that means i'll have to buy a PC but it's a very big dilemma to decide the price(:anywho, thanks every one , cheers.! February 28, 201214 yr Mate that I or anyone for that matter can't help you. You know yourself better than anyone else. If you ask, some people here are pilots and absolutely LOVE their jobs, ones retired because they had served the aviation community for a very long time, some can't fly anymore due to medical reasons. But flying is their life, and they did flying for a long time and most likely for the rest of their lives on the sim or just small planes. And for me, I've been pursuing aviation for over 10 years, and although I'm not a pilot or directly working on aircraft, but I'm quite involved in the field of aviation. But I also know so many people, when they get on the sim, they just want to fly it around like a fighter jet, they think its too boring sitting there for hours on end. So it really depends on the person.I suggest if you are concerned about the computer power letting you enjoy the sim, get a reasonable one (definitely i5) and have it OC'd. Don't bother with SSDs, you can always upgrade. RAM wise, go with 1333, again they can always be upgraded. Basically the core is the MB and CPU. So if simming isn't really your thing, having a powerful computer can mean it will run until the components fall apart, and not when you have the money to upgrade. If it is in fact your cuppa, then you will grow more and more knowledge to know what you're looking at and these questions will be answered very easily by yourself. February 28, 201214 yr ...how many of you been simming for a long time and feels that it never get's boring?Dan,1) Dad's paying so no worries mate!2) If you are flying the NGX and want to master this sim then you'll be kept interested for quite some time - it can be quite addictive. Perhaps you'll become a pilot someday.

February 28, 201214 yr Choosing components for a new PC is very subjective, as there are many good components out there. No solution is the best for everyone, it all depends on what exactly you want your system to do other than FS...Basic factors: Intel i7 CPU overclockable, preferably a K variant...Min 6 or 8Gb RAM, 1600 DDR3 is ideal, the timings are not as important as some think...NVidia GPU for FSX, just seems to work better all round than other GPUsFast drive for OS/FSX, think about a separate drive if you can afford it... (though it is not a necessity)Bottom line: Set your budget and get the best components you can afford within your budget...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
February 28, 201214 yr Just thought I'd chime in since a couple of things have been left just a little vague. The CPU (i5 or i7) must have the 'k' suffix in order to overclock (that's where the bulk of your performance gain comes, but it looks like you probably already know that)The motherboard must also have a p67 or z68 chipset in order to overclock. February 28, 201214 yr Author thank you all, i have decided that if i am going to buy the computer i won't gonna compromise, i mean i will buy a good, to enjoy the beauty of fsx.so Dario, the previous PC that you suggested, is a good one? is it enough? to run all the addon's together? thanks.I5 2500KP8Z68-V Gen3, or a P8Z68-V Pro Gen3GTX560TiCoolermaster 690 II Advanced or Coolermaster HAF 932 if you want a full towerCorsair TX650 or TX7508GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz RAMCM Hyper 212+, Scythe Mugen, Zalman CNPS10X Performa,...Samsung Spinpoint F3, or Caviar Blue/Black, or Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001Win 7 Home Premium 64bthis one(: Daniel choen

February 28, 201214 yr you must overclock your system regardless of how good it isWhy for **** sake do you NEED to OC? You don't NEED to OC at all, I actually found out that FSX ran perfect on an unclocked 2500k 8GB RAM and GTX560, I did overclock as I wanted some extre breathing room on the fps, but running it at stock speed gives a nice 20 fps already. Everest!OC is a ready and free (aside from the cooler) source of measurable performance boost. I don't imagine I'll ever consider stock clock after having run at 4.7 & 4.8 GHz.Edit: overclocking isn't the dangerous black magic it was 15 years ago. A few seconds on google is all it takes to find a good guide that'll walk the prospective oc'er through every step in his/her bios.
