February 29, 201214 yr I know that the Maule did not have a functional autopilot during the beta period...but has anyone figured out how to make the autopilot work, now that we have the release version? Bert
February 29, 201214 yr What autopilot? As I understand it the release candidate has no Autopilot.......but maybe the APs will come with the DLC addon content. February 29, 201214 yr Well, there's an autopilot on the dash of the maule, but i haven't really tried it yet Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. February 29, 201214 yr It says everything about what MS flight is...Yes. You actually have to fly all by yourself. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
February 29, 201214 yr Tried the autopilot, as suggested it has zero functionality. Maybe later... February 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member Wow. Its arcade because it wont fly itself? Really? Anyways, there is ILS and VOR, you just need to FLY IT YOURSELF. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
February 29, 201214 yr Wow. So much for realism.Careful Trevor, drive by one line insults like your last 2 posts might earn you special care and attention really quick.
February 29, 201214 yr Careful Trevor, drive by one line insults like your last 2 posts might earn you special care and attention really quick.Where's the insult? No personal attacks or anything of the sort here that necessitates "attention." That was objective criticism. No autopilot=not realistic. Edited February 29, 201214 yr by Lawyer+Pilot
February 29, 201214 yr Moderator I therefore assume no ILS landings as well correct ?That assumption is incorrect. If you press "M" to open the Map, then click on Legend, it will open a panel on the right side of the screen. Place a check mark in the "Radio Navigation" box to enable the map's display. All navaids will now be displayed on the Map. Hover the mouse over the map's icons to see the frequency. Note that at this time only the Vans RV-6 and the Maule have working nav radios and VOR heads.Where's the insult? No personal attacks or anything of the sort here that necessitates "attention." That was objective criticism. No autopilot=not realistic. In what sense is it "unrealistic?" You do realize that the vast majority of GA aircraft are not equipped with an autopilot at all, right? Fr. But, it will be interesting to see just how much dlc will be required to get this game operating like a sim--if the requisite dlc comes into being in the first place. If anything though, it's a bit cheap to model something in the demo and then make it non-functional in the release date version. Edited February 29, 201214 yr by Lawyer+Pilot
March 1, 201214 yr Yes, the navaids work fine, you can set obs etc and navaid frequecies are all available from the map. it's clearly a sim of more 'basic' ga aircraft atm. Autopilot would be nice but as mentioned many rw ga aircraft lack one and ms are focusing on the hands-on flying at the moment. Most cockpit switches work, you can set baro pressure on the alt, you can run checklists. It's a sim, with a solid layer of game wrapped around it. March 1, 201214 yr My 13yr old son dosen't even know what an autopilot is so I suppose that is why they did not include it in the game.I know there is a lot of simable content in this game but I believe the main focus of the game was for new users who know nothing about flying.
