Two of the best moments ever in a flight sim

Until trackir is supported I have set up my number pad keys to change the view point8- move forward9- move up4- move left5- revert to default6- move right2- move back3- move downIt's of course not as good as trackir but it's okay for now.
I'm going to try this. Thanks!TrackIR is a must and I am sure it will make it in soon.I haven't been this excited about flight since the days of Chuck Yeager 2.0 and Flight Unlimited!FS9 will ALWASYS be on my hard drive. I have installed and uninstalled FSX many times, trying to get the FS9 performance. I have never warmed up to FSX and I will feel no shame in uninstalling it forever.Obviously MS is using the Flight Unlimited model, and they will use it to get maximum profits. But if they continue to deliver more and even better flight products to MS Flight, we will be in for something pretty special down the road.It looks like we were right when we all complained about how FSX didn't take advantage of the hardware of the day. MS has changed course. Now MS Flight has me hooked. And I am enjoying coming to this forum and simply reading about this new flight sim/game.

Nice find, Ramon, although it won't help me because this is the zoom setting and I don't want to change the default zoom (because it also influenced the view on the outside world) but the default position. Maybe there are some specific plane files to edit for that.
[CameraDefinition.002]Title = $CockpitAIf you change the "Initial zoom" in the above section, it will only change the zoom from the cockpits. The default cockpit zoom is 0.60, which is a wide angle view. The outside views are all set with a zoom of 1.0, which is why all the scenery appears to be further away when you are in the cockpit. I set miy initial cockpit zoom to 0.8 during the beta (1.0 ends up not showing enough of the cockpit, especially in the Stearman).

Don't make it complected. In ROF I use a pro X52 & ir5. In MS Flight I just bought a Xbox 360 gamepad for windows and it worksgreat. I look around with the right stick and have gotten pretty good at it. MS owns Xbox so thay made sure there gamepadsfor Xbox and foe windows work great.

Got my first Gold Landing tonight. I took a bunch of tries. Felt like my first solo in a single seater.
It appears that it is now easier to get gold than it was in the beta, where you had to get a perfect score of all 500's.

Guys: You can adjust the Cockpit InitialZoom value on the Cameras.cfg file
Ramon, could I ask you to please post this same information in the new Tutorial section?http://forum.avsim.net/tutorials/category/28-early-tutorials/That will allow it to be instantly available to everyone without having to wade through all the threads here in the forum! :Peace:

You don't have to be sorry for your opinion! But maybe you could say what post exactly you are referring to...?

Yes, all three checks with a perfect 500 would be near impossible for me. You can goof off a little, but not much. You have to have 1450 of 1500 so that doesn't leave much slack. Sometimes I would have 2 of 3 perfect 500s and near zero on the other. Most of those times it was the vertical speed for me. I can nail the centerline most times but either mess up the horziontal or vertical. Just like my golf. If I driving and putting good then I can't chip that day. If I can chip and drive then I can't putt. Just hard to get it all together at the same time. But, I am certainly enjoying my efforts.Ray

I'm surprised no one has rewritten the flight.cfg file yet. Or at least changed a few of the settings.Ray

I didn't mean to take away from your achievement. In fact, I am glad this was changed as I was one of the people griping about this in the beta as I kept missing gold by a few points.

Ah, ok, well... sorry for letting you down, hehe  but yes, I love MS Flight. Maybe I'm simply not so hardcore (if I ever was hardcore!). I can't help it, sorry, but I like MS Flight! I like the missions, the jobs, the graphics, the atmosphere... I love it! I also like how MS Flight forces me to not cheat, as I could in FSX. I don't like everything, but I hope a lot of what I miss will be added in the future. And btw I am not the only who likes MS Flight...

Hey Gang,When I went to adjust the Camera.cfg I saw all those other views. Are they available to us users today? My F7 is a litlle limited. I also noticed the Remote view was mentioned in the manual, but I haven't stumbled across it yet.Screenshot view sounds interesting.Ray

No problem. I'm an old rw pilot that remembers it was the students that taught me how to really fly. I think I had been an CFI about two years when I started to feel confident in a Cessna 150.Ray

always best not to feel confident in a 150/152. never know when the wings'll fall off

I owned a couple of used C150s that were recycled from South Florida flight schools. I probably have 10 actual hours of inverted time in the two. Probably never pulled more than 2 gs either. I taught all my primary and commerical student how to barrel roll a 150 and had them demo 3 or more spins left and right with recovery and each and every one had a simulated forced landing that had to result in a full stop. So yes, I feel fairly confident in an old Cessna 150. Don't have much time in the C152.Ray
