  1. Just wanted to say thank you to the guys who develop this great addition to the hobby, its so refreshing to see it being released for free, when in this hobby, even small utilities and, ahem, 'HD' trees etc. can incur a relatively large charge. no greed, just the desire to help, that's awesome. Cheers guys!
  2. trying out the demo of AS16, and its great, but im having vis issues. it seems to default most weather conditions to quite hazy in the distance. also when forced to 200vis with custom wx get a white band on the horizon, this is with 200 for both max vis settings. anything i can do to remove this? and is the lowish vis with 'real' weather (not pictured) normal? cheers!
  3. i had to set my max vis surface and high alt. to 200 to get even a remotely clear day. seems like the vis is way lower than it indicates. i.e. 200 miles is practically beyond your eyes ability to discern, but its still quite foggy in the distance, tested with custom weather with low humidity etc,. this is at 10-15,000 feet. am I doing something wrong here? tried with and without PTA no diff. love the engine though, will defo be buying.
  4. just joined the 45hz club too, doesn't work so well with the pmdg 73 and fog. but for less demanding things should be good to go! going to try 35hz. 5 fps is a difference! edit: 35 works fine
  5. haha its great!
  6. wow. just made a custom resolution for my monitor for 30hz and its insane how much of a difference it makes! so smooth! wish there was a way of making it so that it swaps to that mode when in p3d and not in desktop because I sure cant use 30hz for anything else..
  7. great thank you! i notice that its only really apparant when zoomed fully out in spot view
  8. Hey, it happens at any shadow quality / cloud shadow distance. Its like its removing the cloud when i cant see it and thus the associated shadow.
  9. Hi guys, recently got p3d v3 and am noticing that when panning, as soon as a cloud goes offscreen, the associated shadow vanishes, this can be pretty jarring. any ideas on how to resolve this? Cheers!
  10. haha yeah, not as if they are going to go around headshotting everyone through walls!
  11. they have had train simulator fans there for a couple of years so flight sim dorks are nothing new ;P
  12. adjust your mouse wheel in mouse settings in windows maybe
  13. no its not the same concept as 3d surround..3d surround is actual 3d with glasses etc. not just multi monitor
  14. yes but its far more densely populated
  15. not really, when i was instructing, the fnpt 2 fully authorized certified simulator you could pull as many gs as you wanted and you wont break anything. and it wont spin properly.flight training aids are for learning the procedures and normal maneuvers, not pulling stupid g or spins
  16. dont think its huge. around 10/15 %.probably not worth it if you already have a 460
  17. if they have an approach mode on the AP then yes.but it wont have auto throttle or anything id imagine, so manual speed control. im not aware of any light aircraft which can autoland. then you are talking about 3 autopilots for fail operational redundancy etc.for cat 3 c
  18. i didnt get any warnings.. or ads with adblock plus. maybe it is the ads which have a bad history
  19. i see what you are saying, and i didn't mean boring really, but i sure don't feel like doing it in Flight after work. :)
  20. yeah, its boring. i do that all day for work so collecting coins is fun for me.not all are here for the same things bro
  21. 560TI would be a better choice than the 460 as its more powerful and still very affordable.
  22. all ilses do indeed have glideslopes. but you sometimes just get localiser only approaches. (LOC DME) then you are on your own regarding vertical profile. save for suggested altitudes at DME distances.localiser is the horizontal component of the ILS by the way for those who dont know
  23. er yeah as the guy said, how is that a crosswind in any way? ;)
  24. hey, sounds unlikely to be aa if its disintegrating as you say!have you tried turning all catalyst AI settings off? when i last had an ati card that caused some problems. also i assume you have downloaded the latest drivers etc
