March 29, 201214 yr Hey gang,I have been trying to make sure I use the appropriate checklists for the jobs I am flying in the Maule.Regarding the ignition on switch, I seem to struggle getting it to start. I click on it with the mouse, click it and move it up with the mouse, and it is like I have to keep doing it till it finally takes and fires up.What am I missing here? I know sometimes it says left, sometimes right, sometimes both when hovering the mouse over it. I am sure there is probably a specific way to start it with the mouse and be consistant when doing so?Thanks for any tips here, Don B
March 29, 201214 yr No help but at least I can confirm I have the exact same problem, I usually just have to keep fiddling with it until it starts... hope someone figured it out. --John near KPAE
March 29, 201214 yr As with most of the knobs or switches that rotate, hover your mouse over the switch/knob and scroll your mousewheel up or down to change the setting.Left and right is referring to the magneto selection on the ignition. This works the same way in FSX
March 29, 201214 yr Are you using the mouse wheel? That's how I do it... March 29, 201214 yr Author Aha, that must be it.No I am not using the mouse wheel - I have been hovering the mouse over the switch, then holding down the left button and dragging upwards with the mouse.Never occured to me to use the mouse wheel, I will try that on the next flight , many thanks guys. March 29, 201214 yr Author This will make tuning radios and the VOR receivers a breeze.Well that is next on my hit list to learn in Flight, so thank you again for the info - will certainly help me there as well. Don B

March 30, 201214 yr The rate at which the OBS knob turns increases as you scroll the mouse wheel faster. You can usually rotate 360 degrees in three quick scrolls. I'll have to try dragging to see if it is more precise.

BTW Dragging up and down is fast and dragging left and right is slow.learned something, was scrolling so far. will try next time. so you just click and hold and then drag the mouse across the cockpit to adjust the OBS?Yep!
March 31, 201214 yr Hi,Arwen's web site seems to have the most comprehensive collection of tips regarding Flight. Several weeks ago, In the forum there, I suggested that the ability to make adjustments using the mouse scroll wheel be included as it wasn't common knowledge. I don't know if it has been added but here's the link for general reference:http://arwenevecom.ipage.com/Flight/Flight_Tips.htmJim F.
