March 5, 201214 yr Hi guys, I've just come across an issue that has suddenly appeared and one that I have not previously had an issue with. I load a flight with the NGX, and the moment the aircraft appears it rolls forward. It's not a deal breaker, but it pushes the aircraft away from where it should be! Any ideas on this guys? March 5, 201214 yr This has happened on every aircraft I've ever flown since using FSX. Like you say, it's minor- I just set the parking brake the moment the flight starts. Louis Vallance | P3D v4.5 (no shaders) | i9-9900K | 32GB | RTX 2080
March 5, 201214 yr I've seen that problem almost every time i load an airplane in FSX. I just hit the brake :) Martin Stendersø SPECS: i5 2500K @ 4,7GHz 1GB GTX 560 TI (900MHz) (ASUS) 4 GB GT Dominator 1866 MHz DDR3 RAM (CORSAIR) P8P67 Motherboard (ASUS) Windows 7 SP1 64-Bit FSX SP2 Deluxe
March 5, 201214 yr Same here, Howard. Re-calibrated, removed and re-added controller(s). Only done this since SP1c so it must be connected in some way...It seems to be connected to the fact that the idle is now somehow coming in at just over 22-23% N1, which starts the AC moving, even with brakes on..The only way I can fix it is to reduce the sensitivity of the controller in FSX, which has the effect of reducing the actual throttle travel too...Means I have to have my finger on the brakes at all times with engines running, which precludes the use of the autobrake, so it is kind of a deal-breaker (or braker haha)bestjakeI have never had this in FSX before now LOL.. March 5, 201214 yr Author Hmm, interesting. I certainly haven't seen it on all my aircraft Louis, only recently on the NGX. As I said, no deal breaker, just thought it was worth throwing out there to see if I was the only one with the issue! Cheers... March 5, 201214 yr Interesting. Noticed that as well today after loading the update. The jet seemed to be moving back and forth at the runway threshold, even though the chocks were set and I was at idle thrust. Must admit I'm not sure whether the brakes were set or not. I'll have to experiment a bit more tonight. Cheers, Bruce Campion-Smith
March 5, 201214 yr Hmmm..It didn't move back and forth, but it did give the impression it was "straining at the leash", and when the brakes were released I couldn't get it to stop rolling forward...N1 at just over 24%, which is enough to get it moving..Couldn't drop revs below that even with F1, which returned it to 22.1%, but it then came straight back up again..I thought it must be the joystick (despite it working pre-sp1c) so I re-calibrated again to no avail..didn't do this before SP1c and it has _never_ done it with any of my other AC, payware or not...bestjake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
March 5, 201214 yr All my flights are from C&D..It will start to roll once the engine is awake..It's as if it's detecting forward movement from the throttle when there is none..I can also see the throttle move ever so slightly forward when I load the plane, even though there is no movement from my throttle.I recalibrated my stick/throttle and it made no difference; I lower the sensitivity in FSX and it removes it but I lose throttle travel..I'm mid-flight in Tut 2 atm but when I get to LOWI I'll fire up a different livery and see if it's any different. I have only loaded the Ryanair 800 so far post SP1cI'm totally prepared to accept it is my controller/FSX, but it didn't do it before SP1c. I would have noticed!bestjake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
March 6, 201214 yr I set my default panel state to 'long turn' and it totally solved this.Regards,George
March 6, 201214 yr Jake, I recommend using FSUIPC, it will enable you to set a point where the controller sends "0" to a different point. Most controllers over time move their expected zero point a bit out of range. (as well as expected 100% point, but that is not that big a deal) --Peter Fabian

March 6, 201214 yr In Calibration tab. You move the axis around, find a position near the bottom and set it with a button, same near the top. --Peter Fabian

March 6, 201214 yr Yep, it's throttle related. Ryan mentions it in tutorial #2. I don't seem to get this happening with the Thrustmaster Warhog, probably as it has hall effect sensors instead of pots. Might be worth recalibrating your throttle in FSUIPC as mentioned.
