March 7, 201214 yr OK.. ta very much, Ron.. I had a bash with the Carenado 182Q, a couple of weeks ago, but the old knobs all stick through the new panels. There's a sort-of second layer of the original instrument under the new one..What did you find to be a problem with the KLN 90? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
March 7, 201214 yr What did you find to be a problem with the KLN 90?Too much demand on an ever depleting supply of brain cells. :wacko:Oh, and no pictures. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
March 8, 201214 yr Author And if anyone uses ORBX PNW, does the Islander fly slow enough for the ground textures to load? Thats why I almost never fly heavy metal out of SEA/PDX/YVR, the ground textures just do not load going 240 knots at 9,000 feet!

March 8, 201214 yr Hi RonI know the screen is not up to the modern gps's and it can be a little difficult inputting a flight plan but the D-to works fine, but this is better if you subscribe and up the nav data.you can get up some form of moving plan (no terrain) if you have a flight plan or D-to in, have both screens on nav5 and then press crsr and add the APT,VOR or the NBD, screen gets a little cluttered but it helps. there is also an option to change the scale.bob
March 8, 201214 yr Hello Bob. but the D-to works fine, but this is better if you subscribe and up the nav data.Don't know what that means, but it sounds suspiciously like having to use brain power (see above)I'm very happy using a 430 pop-up. Gets me where I'm going, whilst leaving spare room for planning my next beer! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
March 8, 201214 yr whilst leaving spare room for planning my next beer! Ron, thats a good idea, I need to get down to the beer store, (thats 'Aldi' the cheap beer store here in the uk.)bob

Thats why I almost never fly heavy metal out of SEA/PDX/YVR, the ground textures just do not load going 240 knots at 9,000 feet!Don't worry - as I said, the BN-2 islander is a seriously slow aircraft. I usually fly at about 120 knots I think. I find it perfect for flights around OrbX sceneries because of that. Gets me a very smooth experience with many sliders rather high. I'll even go as far as saying that it's one of the few aircraft where I can do that!
