March 9, 201214 yr A fair amount complained when the rockband songs starting coming out and if you bought a 3 pack, those songs would still show as being unpurchased in the list and people did not read that it states this song maybe included in a multipack and it is possible to purchase the same song twice. Thats why you will also see MS put NO REFUNDS on alot the the item descriptions. Its up to the end user to fully understand what they are purchasing.
March 9, 201214 yr Author Thanks for all the replies. Enough said about that. It's to blame on myself, mostly I'm not so clicker-happy. Can live with it ;-)).Otherwise I slightly have the feeling that Msoft in this stadium (just launched their new product) shouldn't had to sell 'empty'planes, this could give a wrong (or maybe a just?) impression of the quality the game will grow to?But this is just my thoughts, no more no less.Happy flying.
March 9, 201214 yr If you wouldn't have bought it if you'd known it didn't have a cockpit (even though that is in the description), please send an email to [email protected] to complain about it not having a cockpit. If they get enough negative feedback, maybe they won't release an aircraft again without making a version available with the cockpit.
March 9, 201214 yr Lol at the thread title...C'mon guys, everyone knows the p51 doesn't have a cockpit and it's clearly stated in the product description. I'm suprised we're giving MS a hard time about this particular issue. Not a plane i've personally got any interest in buying, but some people seem to like it for doing the achievements. Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. Currently flying: MSFS: PMDG 737-700, Fenix A320, Leonardo MD-82, MIlviz C310, Flysimware C414AW, DC Concorde, Carenado C337. Prepar3d v5: PMDG 737/747/777. "There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are."

How would you even imagine that there was such thing as a cockpit-less aircraft in Microsoft Flight? It's not your fault that you didn't want to read that generic description of a P-51. But yeah, we'll just have to pay attention to that on future purchases.
March 9, 201214 yr Of course what hasn't been picked up on here from the original post is the fact that if you are in F9 cockpit view without the cockpit and then rotate to look behind you what would you expect to see. Just the scenery of course. Instead you see the Plane. It's like F9 is just an exterior view that has moved your view forward outside of the plane. This is of course wrong. Now does anyone fancy moving the viewpoint backwards so you are inside the plane and see what happens. That would be interesting.
March 9, 201214 yr P-51 Mustang, the king of the skies, such a nicely modeled airplane, what a shame not to be able to fly it from the inside. No cockpit airplanes, mm... Well all is not lost. Think of it as an opportunity offered to you, so you can experience Flight in other ways:F9 Will let you play Superman, the Figurehead on a ship’s prow, the feeling of being chased by a giant propeller, or better yet, it will let you play Dead and thus preview the experience of ascending to heaven.F11 Will also allow you to play the RC plane thing, without the hassle of crashing your brand new RC plane on the first try, and will also let you enjoy the why am I flying outside of my own plane feeling. So many possibilities….. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
March 9, 201214 yr It seems Flight has been released at least 3-4 months before its natural time...You are correct, Flight release date was scheduled for Spring 2012, but then, someone decided to rush it and came out on Feb 28-29.The Basic “no cockpit” aircraft models were decided long ago. As stated by them on the beta, and I think I also read it on some interview. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

I admit that I now enjoy the view with this plane, just like you stated, I can look around and zoom in freely (and far). I can see the trees growing and see some isolated building far in the distance. I lLike that, as we had in FSX, nevertheless ... one cockpitless-plane is enought for me!
March 9, 201214 yr Moderator It's actually quite funny that there are more than a few "complaining" that they want a clear and unobstructed view of the scenery (such as was available in FS9 when pressing the W key). With the Mustang that is now possible......and many of the same folks are now "complaining" about the lack of a VC. There's just no pleasing some folks... :Thinking:BTW, I happen to agree that the entire concept of an "external model only" is a silly idea... :LMAO: Fr. There's just no pleasing some folks... :Thinking:BTW, I happen to agree that the entire concept of an "external model only" is a silly idea... :LMAO:I will just refuse to fly in external, period. Of course that is just personal preference, just the part of me that wants to simulate flying an airplane, not simulate being outside of it watching it fly .Reminds me of my hard core sim racing days - I was really hard core there, much more so than in flight simulating - I was racing online every chance I got, two or three leagues at a time - Nascar racing. I was a beta tester for Papyrus for at least 2,maybe 3 of their Nascar sims. Some found they could control the car better from exterior view, I and many others insisted on cockpit view only. There was many a quite heated debate over that one. So you are right , there is no pleasing all at the same time - best way to do that is to offer both views, for all planes! Don B
March 9, 201214 yr Moderator So you are right , there is no pleasing all at the same time - best way to do that is to offer both views, for all planes! From what we were told in the beta forum, that is precisely the ultimate plan. But first, they wanted to test the concept with a single aircraft. Many others and I suggested that a more balanced test would be to make both versions available at the same time, then check to see which of the two versions had the greater number of sales... Fr. March 9, 201214 yr That concept of exterior view only, might go over with say a console version, however I would have to think that if one does PC gaming, and simulators on the PC, they are going to want much more detail and depth, than one might get with a console game. Don B
